Name:shrike cardinal † chris lillenfeld is gone
Location:Sundance, Wyoming, United States
Bio:Character Information

Name: Shrike Cardinal.
True Name: Christian Lillenfeld.
Gender: Male.
Age: Twenty-one.
Birthday: March 17, 1999.
Greatest Ambition: To write the first book in the new world.
Physical Description: Blonde hair, blue eyes, a regular all-American guy in a world gone to hell. Standing five foot, ten inches, Shrike would have fit the build for a regular high school, college level athlete had things not changed and his life had gone according to plan. Keeping fit with construction efforts, he might actually be able to build muscle mass if he were ever to eat a good, square meal.
Distinguishing Marks: A quarter-inch scar-like depression several inches above his belly button, offset toward his stomach, from a surgery he'd undergone as a child. He doesn't even remember what it was for.
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual.
Single or taken: Single.
Best friend: TBD.

Personality: A young man that has no problem holding his tongue even when he should speak up, Shrike is the person in the background of a scene you can always count on for a valid observation. He seems most at peace when he's alone, in which his time is spent writing, but he knows the world is all but empty and that socialization is not as terrible as he sometimes makes it out to be. Willing to put others before himself, a firm understanding of what he can and can't do, and a devotion to those friends he deems close enough, he fits into the Twin Feathers as a self-sufficient worker with an unflinching conviction to his tribe.

Personal History: Born to Jacob and Christina Lillenfeld at the turn of the century, just before the problems of Y2K seemed to be a major concern for the populus, Christian enjoyed life as an only child until his third birthday, whereupon his little brother, Jake, was born. He took to being an older brother like a fish to water, and would carry Jake around everywhere the boys went to the point that Jake started walking one year later than most other children his age. Chris would talk for him, also, so much so that Jake had a hard time speaking for himself once his older brother had been enrolled in school full-time.

His parents weren't altogether wealthy, but they weren't altogether poor, either, and growing up, the boys had nearly everything they could ask for (except a dirt bike, because that was deemed not safe enough). Christian's father worked as an author and publisher for HarperTorch, a subsidiary for HarperCollins Publishing, and though the man was gifted with the art of crafting words into fine stories, none of his material ever sold well. Christian's mother worked as a waitress for the first part of his life until moving on to something more stable for the sake of the family, whereupon she sought employment at the Vance Corporation as an administrative assistant.

This time also saw the family moving from the City of Brotherly Love to the town of Sundance, in the square Crook County of the square state of Wyoming. Neither boy was too pleased with the move from the big city to the quaint burg, but they had little choice when it came to life decisions. How all that would change in a matter of time.

With all of their friends behind them, in a new home, a new town, and new schools, Christian and Jake stuck closer together than ever before. They moved in the same circles, knew all the same people, and were friends with all the same friends. Long before they moved to Sundance, Chris had taught Jake the ins and outs of skateboarding, trying to create a number of things in any way he possibly could that they would share in common. Of course, not wanting to be a copycat, Jake learned how to inline skate, instead, and got good enough to the point that he was considered one of the best in the neighborhood. Resigned to the slightest differences, Christian accepted the fact that his brother wanted to be a fruit booter instead of a stick flipper, and enrolled the boy in any competitions that he could in the area, moving further out of town and even out of state once he acquired his driver's license. It was at one of these competitions, not overly close to home, that his brother pointed out two kids that lived in the same area: Marlon and Marianne Evans.

Christian would have been content just knowing that not everyone in Wyoming was as dull as he had originally thought, but Jake wanted to get better acquainted with the other siblings, and introduced himself and his older brother as the best skaters in Sundance, though Chris was far from it. Marianne, not backing down in the slightest, told them to prove it, and Christian ended up in the competition without actually wanting to be there. Ten seconds into his first heat, coming off of a rail riding switch, Chris went down on his next trick, breaking his ankle; his brother thought it was the coolest thing -- he, however, did not. Needless to say, the four teens all had something to talk about in school afterwards, and the twins were the second and third people to sign Christian's cool new cast.

After the virus hit and claimed the lives of their parents, Jake's death came soon after, leaving Christian utterly alone in the world. His little brother had Type 1 diabetes, and when the outbreak got bad enough, it became increasingly hard to acquire the insulin the boy required to function.

Christian buried him in a shallow grave behind their home.

When it came time to move on, he went with his friends north of the city, taking everything he owned and shoving it in a book bag, leaving whatever couldn't fit or seemed inappropriate for the times ahead. Before he left the house and met up with the rest of the soon to be Twin Feathers tribe, he grabbed his brother's acoustic guitar, still sealed tight in its case, and took off with only the briefest glances back at the life he once had.

Birth Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Blood Family: All deceased.
What tribe do they belong to if any?: Twin Feathers.
How long have they been with that tribe?: Since its creation.
Personal Strengths: The ability to step back and look at a problem from a different angle; a relatively cool head when it comes to most things; unerring faith in his leaders.
Personal Weaknesses: A level of detachedness to others for fear of losing them; willing to risk his life for something as simple as his "manuscript," which is to be the first book written after the outbreak; unerring faith in his leaders.
Personal Skills and Training: Shrike was on the work team that built the tree houses the Twin Feathers live in, and is one of the builders sent out to other tribes when in need of trade. All of his training has come from practice after the virus claimed the lives of his family and he began living with the tribe. He also has a guitar that was his brothers, which he has tried to play on several occasions.
Job that they have in the tribe: Builder.
What keeps him alive: Writing.
PB: Mike Vogel
