NAME: Ace Blue AGE/BIRTHDAY: 20 / 7th December 2051 BIRTHPLACE: Mars HEIGHT/BUILD: 5'5" / slouches quite a lot when she stands/sits until someone nags her about it NOTABLE DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: Has shoulder length hair, which she ties up in a ponytail when she's piloting. She lets it fall forward when she's not. She also wears the same outfits over and over again, which consist of jeans (or sweatpants when she's particularly lazy), a plain pullover and blouse. GRADUATION YEAR: 2071 CREW MEMBER OF: Kamikaze MEMBER SINCE: 2071, joined three months ago POSITION: Pilot SKILL SETS: FLIGHT: Consistently scored excellent marks for her flight simulation training. Has a very stable type of piloting; does not go fast unless she is needed to--in which case, it'll likely be a rough ride as she's still working on maintaining control while accelerating. She has mixed feelings about unpredictability in the terrain; on one hand, it IS exciting and challenging, but it’s also risky and a lot of effort. ENGINEERING: Has general knowledge on a ship's internal systems but and is still learning more about Kamikaze's. COMBAT: Has a good grasp of using handguns, but her skills are only limited to that. She's looking to improve… at one point… in her life… PERSONALITY: INTELLIGENT: Already an avid reader, she absorbs information quickly and is able to translate them into action. She’s also great with memorizing things -- when she makes the effort, that is. EMPATHETIC: Being more of a listener than a talker, Ace is able to emphatise and put herself in the shoes of people who talk to her about their problems/feelings. While not being the most affectionate, if they're her friends, she is willing to be there for them and help with whatever she can. A PROFESSIONAL BURRITO: Socializing? No, thanks! When she’s off the job, she usually becomes a hermit and occupies herself with games or reading. She’s not that terrible, though--she’ll find herself easily swayed by friends. Sometimes she’ll even bring a blanket to the cockpit. Basically sleeps and naps a lot. Also she can’t take a lot of noise and when she gets too overwhelmed by crowds, she’ll quietly slip away. RISKS? NO THANK YOU: Ace gets complacent very quickly without someone to give her the right nudge she needs to buck up. This says a lot about her motivation--she won’t put in extra effort if no one pushes her.She also overthinks and has a hard time making firm decisions. She definitely can’t pilot alone in emergency situations--not now anyway. HISTORY: FAMILY: Nora Kim (mother) – Biochemistry Professor, Mars University Flynn Blue (father) – English Literature Professor, Mars University Jeremy Blue (brother, 28) – nurse Sage Blue (brother, 23) – electrical engineer Royal Blue (brother, 21) – mechanical engineer Growing up, Ace’s parents tried to nurture her to be as academic as they are—and to extent, they were successful. Since she was a child, she has always been an avid reader, a quick learner and excellent at memorizing. But she was also somewhat of a social outcast as a result, always conscious about how she was perceived by everyone. She found comfort through spending time with her brothers, who found her presence an occasional nuisance sometimes, but felt the need to spoil her most of the time as she is the youngest and the only girl in the family. Sage and Royal were both racing and ship enthusiasts, so she would often follow them to rallies and to their workplace. They didn’t hesitate to teach her everything they knew about ships, and she was eager to learn from her brothers. But does she love piloting and engineering? She’s not sure. She just happened to be really good at them. Royal had tried applying for the RAC a few times and kept being rejected. When she turned 17, he told her to try out for it since her high school grades were stellar. She was accepted, and he wasn’t, but he insisted that she should go anyway. Ace has never been good with people in the first place, so she spent much of her two years not making much of an effort to find friends, but did shut people out completely. She busied herself with flight simulators, tinkering with engineering and playing games (board games, card games, electronic games—she joined in whatever she could find). She also spent a lot of time getting her ass kicked in combat classes—that hadn’t been fun at all. It was unsurprising then that she was one of the most talented yet the most unmotivated person in her training year. She took as few classes as she could and was sometimes absent—causing the wrath of her instructors. Ace was almost kicked out, but did too well in her examinations to do so. Instead, they kept her on a disciplinary watch, though honestly, she hadn’t done anything wrong. She was six months late from graduating, and had scored with flying colours in almost all of her assessments. Her examiners had doubts that she’s going to have much of a career in the RAC, and to be honest—she won’t be surprised if she ends up quitting at some point too. But her results show that she has potential (if she quits, her brother would probably disown her or something), and as of now, she has been working on the Kamikaze as a pilot for the past three months.
