Miss Parkinson worded her note far more eloquently than I could hope to, so I will merely add that if anyone should have any questions from my house--or, indeed, even if you are in another house and feel so inclined--you can come to me. I have more than double (2.2 times, to be almost exact) the amount of patrol hours this week as last. I know we are all going to act like shining examples that shall surely make our parents proud.

[Prefects]
So, did anyone get word of how we're supposed to fit everything in around this new schedule? Did I miss that delightful little memo? Right, I didn't think so.

[Arius]
Did you happen to get the potions assignment? I can't tell what page numbers I wrote down (I was apparently in a hurry to get to lunch when I scribbled them)

Ten sickles says the Troll story gets mentioned next History of Magic class. I, for one, will never understand his obsession with Trolls and Goblins. Perhaps it's just me.

I'm mail-ordering sweets from Honeydukes, since it looks like our trip won't be happening for quite sometime. Let me know if you're interested in placing an order, as well--we can get discounts for buying in bulk.

All this coruscating metaphor is making my head hurt. Not that there's anything wrong with it; I like Wyatt and Shakespeare and Donne and Marvell as well as any. In fact, I even like Keats, too though Endymion was a disaster. (Hyperion and The Fall of Hyperion were fantastic--I don't care what anyone says)

BUT, I believe you can have too much of a good thing, so to speak. Homer, anyone? Or Hesiod? How about Vergil? I know, the last is well after the preliterate era in its composition (if we are to believe Milman Parry), but it's still good.

If anyone would like to discuss said works, or anything around that period, I'll be in the courtyard. The weather is looking nice, and I'm quite glad Spring is on the way.

I seem to have misplaced a certain literature anthology. Is there any chance anyone has seen it?

Also: it appears we are expecting more snow over the weekend. I sense a snowball fight would be devastatingly appropriate. Or, you know, we could make snow angels and snowmen -- that works, too.
