It's been awhile since we've heard from our scandalous leader. Of course, that's probably because he's been a pretty busy guy lately and hasn't had much time to grace the cover of US Weekly or OK! Anthony Navagato, once crowned the Tabloid King, has been more of a hermit of late than he ever was before. Thankfully, we were able to get a phone interview (after many calls to Nuri Int'l!!!) with him to find out why.

Lindsay -- "Hi. Is this Anthony?" Anthony -- "Yes, it is. Who's this?"
L -- "Hi! This is Lindsay ----. I'm calling on behalf of your fanpage, anthony-navagato.org." AN -- "Oh! Hey. How are you?"
L -- "I'm good, thanks. It's really great to get to talk to you. I hope you don't mind, but I have a couple questions I wanted to ask you." AN -- "No, that's quite alright. I figured you would. Ask away."
L -- "Alright, well, my first question is .. where have you been? What have you been up to? You seem to be slacking on the rights to your title." AN -- laughter "That's more than just one question, you know. But, umm .. title. Are you talking about that whole 'Tabloid King' thing? I really haven't been doing anything scandalous enough for me to be in the tabloids. I just don't see much of a point anymore. I think I'm going to renounce my thrown, actually."
L -- "Oh, no! You can't do that!" AN -- "Sure, I can. I mean, there's a ton of people out there who are better suited for it now. Take Lancelot McAllister. Christ, that guy is everywhere anymore. Closest I got to being in the tabloids recently was when I got in a fight with that 'Transformers' kid. But that all sort of blew over rather quickly."
L -- "So you really did get in a fight with Travis Radcliff?" AN -- "Is that his name? I keep forgetting. It was all this big misunderstanding, honestly. He got upset because I gave his girlfriend a fat lip. Entirely by accident. Emily Sloane, his girlfriend, was playing opposite me in the movie 'Never, Never' which we just wrapped awhile ago."
L -- "Ooooh." AN -- laughter "Don't sound so disappointed! If it makes you feel any better, I wiped the floor with his ass after he lunged at me. Security and both our managers had to intervene to stop the fight. It was more amusing than anything else."
L -- "Well, at least you won." AN -- "Yeah. Though I had some unhappy people to deal with afterwards. Including my wife."
L -- "She was unhappy that you won? Or that you were fighting?" AN -- "That I was fighting. I don't think she likes my temper at times. I'm nowhere near as bad as my father can be, but I think it freaks her out. Which is understandable considering the shape she's in right now."
L -- "The shape she's in? What do you mean?" AN -- "Oh. Well, I guess that's not the best way to word it. And I honestly don't know how we managed to keep this a secret as long as we have but .. my wife is pregnant. About six months, actually. So, it's entirely understandable why she gets annoyed when I'm being a hot head."
L -- "Wow! Congratulations! I had no idea." AN -- "Yeah, most of the population didn't. That's why I've been staying out of the spotlight as much as possible lately. Trying to give my wife some breathing room because I don't want her to be uncomfortable. It's hard enough having people shove cameras in your face for being married to me, but for being pregnant? She doesn't need that right now."
L -- "That definitely explains the hermit-like behavior." AN -- "Hermit-like? Wow. Have I been that bad?"
L -- "Well, okay, maybe not that bad. We did see you out at the movie premiere for 'Love the One You're With,' in which you starred opposite Danielle Belmont. How as that?" AN -- "Working with Dani was great, actually. The movie had a pretty decent plot, despite it not being my typical work. I don't usually do the whole romantic comedy or dramedy thing, but it was a good story and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to work with a good friend of mine."
L -- "How did you meet Danielle?" AN -- "We actually met on the set of 'Solace.' At least, that was our first face-to-face meeting. We'd heard of each other before and we have mutual friends. But when she did her guest spot on 'Solace,' we met there."
L -- "She's close to your 'Wicked' co-star, right?" AN -- "You mean Alice Leroux? Yeah. They're pretty tight. And honestly? Those two are probably my favorite people to ever have worked with. They're very professional and yet they're a lot of fun behind-the-scenes. Dani is a goofball."
L -- "What are you working on now that 'Never, Never' has wrapped?" AN -- "I have a lot of stuff coming my way, actually. I've had to postpone work on my first production, 'Northanger Abbey' .. due to multiple pregnancies. But I hope to start working on that in the winter, maybe doing some of the studio work here in LA before we head to Canada to film. I'm also working with some friends of mine who helped me start up DSC, which is my production company. We're in talks with FOX for a TV series that I pitched to them. And no, I won't be giving out any details on that. Umm .. other than that, I've got a couple scripts that I'm looking through .. including one for 'Son of a Witch,' the sequel to 'Wicked.' But I'm not sure how much I want to sign on for at the moment considering I have a baby on the way."
L -- "I guess that makes sense. I really hope that everything goes well with that. When is 'Never, Never' supposed to premiere?" AN -- "Sometime in the Fall. That's all I know. They haven't set a date yet for the release."
L -- "Alright. Well, I'm sure you have things you need to be doing, so I won't take up any more of your time. Thank you so much for speaking with me." AN -- "You're very welcome."
