| Bio: |  Derek DeVille was not always Derek DeVille, having been born a long time ago and to another name, long forgotten. Not even sure of the year of his birth - somewhere around 5 AD, best as he can tell, during the reign of Augustus Caesar - he came into this world and as a young child was abandoned by his unknown and callous parents to the streets of Rome, where he was forced to grow up rather quickly. But Derek was nothing if not resourceful and he found a way to survive by his natural wits. He stole at first and when he got a little older he began to sell himself, first on the streets, and then he discovered that wealthy men would pay well for his favours. They nicknamed him Cupid, after the Roman god, and he allowed it, because it got him what he wanted. And he did what he needed to do to simply survive. He happened to be in the Palace one day, for a sexual liason with one of the Royal family, when he chanced to encounter the Emperior Caligula's idiot uncle Claudius, who exhorted him to join the military and see the world, and the ever enthusiastic Derek enlisted that same day. He was dispatched to help guard Hadrian's Wall, on the Scottish border - little did he realize that the true nature of the wall was to guard against the Scottish vampires invading England - and then he discovered how boring being a soldier really was. Form a phalanx, unform - rinse and repeat - over and over. He hated it, but what could he do? Until one day he managed to acquire some alcohol, and stealing away from his company proceeded to get quietly and gloriously drunk. Then it was that he first saw Angus McGregor. He fell instantly in lust and wanted him - and he got him - but he also got more than he bargained for, as Angus was indeed a vampire and proceeded to turn Derek on the spot. However he also got his wish, for he quit the army that same say, and has never looked back.  | ||||||||||
