Yes, he's snarky, sarcastic, and has an attitude sometimes. He's arrogant and too honest. The flaws for Ethan Mitchell are long and varied, none that he's afraid to own up to. He's also sweet and charming. He's witty, intelligent, and streetwise. He's got a heart of gold underneath all the armor he's built. Ethan can be gentle and understanding, sometimes when you least expect it. Good or bad he is who he is without apology. History: Ethan Mitchell has never been ordinary. Sure it looks that way on the surface, but he's always been pretty good about fooling people. You could say that his family is simple. A nice mum, stepfather, stepsister and border collie to complete the picture. But of course, it's never that easy. While working as a flight attendant, his mother had a one night stand with an American and he was born out of wedlock. His stepfather was a 'respectable' widower (re: wealthy) who took pity upon Ethan's beautiful mother and married her not long after they met. Ethan never liked the man, nor his snobby daughter Sarah, older than he was by two years. His mother and stepfather had a tendency to favor her because she was oh-so-sweet...to their faces. Ethan didn't care. Why? Because he wasn't one of them. He was special, different. He could feel it, he knew. So did his mother. When he was a young child, odd things happened whenever Ethan was around. He would get angry at Sarah and suddenly her toys would fly across the room. He would cry and things seemed to move of their own volition. No, that's wrong. Ethan's volition. If a bully knocked him down, the offender instantly stumbled without Ethan touching him. His mother saw the signs, but ignored them, passed it off as coincidence. Ethan himself recognized the signs, and like any child? Thought himself magic. He could do things, move things with his mind! He didn't quite understand why when he said words that rhymed nothing happened like it did on TV, but it was alright, he could still do things without words. Like pull Sarah's hair or make father's soup fall into his lap. As he got older, Ethan realized had the gift of telekinesis. Now, some people would turn more introverted, protect themselves and their gift. Ethan was not such a person. He loved that he had something that made him special, different, and used it to it's maximum potential. However that wasn't always in the most honest of ways. He would unlock places that most people couldn't get in and throw parties, start cars, cheat at gambling, whatever he wanted. The sky was the limit. Admittedly, he used these things to get his parents attention. They were content with Sarah and sending him off to the posh, snobby schools they were so found of. He made it his mission to push the boundaries the best he could. He pulled pranks that no one could pin on him. Of course, he was caught doing something eventually and got kicked out. One. Then again. And another. And another. By the time he was sixteen, he had been transferred to five different boarding schools. His parents have finally had it. They're sending him to his father in America to see if he can straighten Ethan out. Flaws: Overconfident much? Because he's so accustomed to getting what he wants, how he wants, when he wants it, he's gotten the impression that he's god's gift. He'll be quick to tell you how accurate that description of him is too. His moral compass is slightly skewed. He's not a bad guy, but he considers himself a little like Robin Hood. Take from the greedy and give to the needy. He just happens to be in need. Frequently. He can't stand to not be in the limelight. Thanks to being in Sarah's shadow for so long, if he doesn't get enough attention, he practically goes through withdrawl. Merits: He's ambidextrous. Sleight of hand is no problem for Ethan. He's had many years practice. This is just as good for cheating at cards as it is for helping you repair your car. Not that he's really auto savvy. You get kicked out of as many schools as he has, you learn your way around the system and more importantly how to manipulate it to your advantage. Of course, now that he's in America, all that goes out the window...mostly. The boy knows how to keep a secret. Tell him anything and that's exactly where it stays. With him.
