who are you
She takes a sip of her beer and sneers at the fact that it's room temperature. It's disgusting but she'll still drink it because she's not one to turn down a free drink or anything that's free.
"Start at the beginning," Wesley calmly says to her.
If this is supposed to be some bonding ritual or some form of therapy then it's not working. She doesn't really like her new Watcher and she doubts anything is going to change that. Not even this pathetic attempt of his to be her friend.
Faith arches an eyebrow at him and wonder who's great idea it was to put him in the field. She hopes that they lose their job over it. At least Giles is a better at the whole bonding thing. Buffy looks at the older man like he was her father. It's all hero worship and trust for Buffy when it comes to Giles.
"What don't you know?" Faith asks.
"That's not how this work," Wesley tells hers. "I want to know who you are from your perspective, not from some slip of paper that Professor Dormer had submitted."
Faith sighs. Clearly Wesley wants to make this hard on her.
"Fine English, I grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. My mother was poor and a junkie. I am sure you can guess how she made ends meet and how she ensured she always had a supply of whatever it was she needed any given week."
Wesley looks like he's about to say something but she cuts him off. She's not interested in his pity or his sympathy. She's even less interested in his judgment.
"Professor Dormer found me, told me what I was and then she trained me. Things were better until they weren't. Then I came here because Professor Dormer had told me about Buffy."
Faith slams back the bottle of warm beer. She wants to wash the taste of her shitty life out of her mouth but all she gets is a sick feeling in her stomach. Wesley looks lost and confused, which is a pretty typical look for him.
"You don't need to know about who I was before I became a Slayer that ain't me anymore English. How about you stick to telling me what to slay, okay?"
She doesn't wait for an answer. Instead she storms out of the room and away from him. Buffy and her friends are in the library all full of smiles. They all look so normal and Faith wants to punch each and everyone of them instead she sneers at them as she storms out of the library. Of course, perfect little Miss Buffy gets to have it all.
