Himeros had an alternate form of a young man, about 19 with curled locks of flowing black hair. Mortal Height: 5’9” Weight/Build: Thin and trim. Hair: Shaggy, light brown Eyes: Hazel Skin/Other: White Description: Aged from his youthfulness and attractive, but not overly so; he has a shaggy mop of brown hair, a perpetual five o'clock shadow and hazel eyes, stands about 5'9" and has a slim build. He's not very muscular or cut, but he is trim with a high metabolism that keeps the weight off.  Psychological Myth Personality: As a myth Himeros had a very forward personality, that showed no fear. He was never afraid to show sensuality and act on the impulses that come. He was completely loyal to Aphrodite and his brothers, although normal sibling spats were par for the course. He always faced life with passion and at times could lose sight of the larger picture for his focus (lose the forest for the trees so to speak). He still has a forward personality and isn't afraid to call someone on their bull- this helps when dealing with some of the kids he deals with. He has always been a sexual being (even before it became a problem), and was never shy about expressing it to those he loved. Adam has been called a romantic, always enjoying the courtship of desire, he frequently suprises those he's been in relationships with by getting them flowers or sending love notes. He's always been private about his personal life, and has been quick to make superficial attachments to people without sharing anything deeper- this comes from the cycle of friends, foster siblings and parents he had growing up. He didn't truely open up until a commitment was made, and he's never been the one to initiate that commitment. Once some sort of perminancy is made, however, he's very willing to open up and share almost everything- at least until the dreams and impulses took over. Dislikes: People who say they can’t change, people who judge people and don’t give second chances, planes (but he will if he has to- he just doesn’t like it).  Biographical Myth: There are two main myths that tell of Himeros's birth. The first is that he was born in the sea-foam that birthed Aphrodite with Eros and served with her ever since. The second is that he is the son of Aphrodite and Ares. The truth is that the second story is true, although a part of him was born with Aphrodite he wasn't physically born until later. Himeros spent most of his time serving Aphrodite and playing with humans and his brother Erotes. Using his bow and arrows to help fan the fire of desire in mortals until they could grasp it themselves and keeping the longing in their hearts of those parted from their loved ones.  War: Before the Coup of Cronus: As the world changed around them Himeros stayed the same, afterall people still loved, still desired, still longed for the hearts of others and the touch of their skin and the... well you know. During the Coup: Himeros stayed by his brothers sides, never one to leave Pothos, Anteros or Eros to fight alone. Always loyal to Aphrodite, although not interested in the power struggle itself, he would always serve her. (This may change depending on where Eros stands during the coup).  Mortal: Adam was born in Cardiff to Henrietta and Nigel Harkenson. He lived with them until they were killed two years later in a car accident. He was then sent to live with his only other living relative, a great-aunt Constince in Boulder Colorado. She'd left the states when she married a young soldier during 'the war' and stayed in the US after his death in 1975. He lived with her until her death during his fourth year of school. From then until he turned eighteen Adam drifted in and out of foster care. He learned early on to keep his head down and just do what he was told, but saw many of his foster siblings or the other kids at the group homes not drift along as smoothly as he did. Adam had been blessed to have had a loving home before being put into the system, others were not so fortunate and he could see how they suffered. His first foster family had strict rules about sex, drugs and theft which all made perfect sense to Adam- don't do it. These were things he kept with him. When Adam turned eighteen he inherited both his parents and his great-aunts estate (at least what little there was of it) which had been held in a trust set up by his aunt, knowing that if she passed on he'd need to be protected. He used his trust to pay for college, and get an apartment. College was fun, and while partied and enjoyed his time there, he was still a good student and graduated with a BA in child development and counseling. It took him a year until he found a job he loved, working at a center for troubled youth. Adam had seen so many foster kids just fail in the system with no one to help them when they got into trouble that he wanted to be able to change that. While his job isn't easy and there are some days that he thinks that maybe these kids really are hopeless, he is always suprised when that one comes back after being released and thanks him. That negates all the repeat offenders and long termers to know that at least one was 'saved'. The dreams started his last year in college. Dreams of flight, and a beautiful woman. Dreams where his whole body tingled with longing for anothers touch. The dreams turned into desire, wanting to find someone to chase him, and to chase. Wanting someone to touch and to want to touch him. He also started to have thoughts about men as well, which had been something he'd never really had before. It was slow at first, and Adam was able to resist the impulses, that was until about 8 months ago. He found himself drawn out late more than normal, visitin clubs, picking up girls and guys. Reveling in the short courtships and the feeling that came knowing that someone else wanted him or the look in the eyes of someone when they realized that they were wanted. Adam managed to keep this 'secret life' from those he worked with as well as his fiancee, Lucy, who he'd been dating three months before it started. He proposed four months later. It wasn't too hard to keep his secret life from Lucy, telling her that he was staying late at work, or spending the night because of an insident or to watch a certain kid or what have you. She never called the office, only his cell so he was always able to be in touch if she called. He felt guilty about it, but he just couldn't resist. Of course just because he went out a couple times a week didn't mean that he wasn't attracted to his fiancee, he loved her to death and many times knowing that she was waiting for him would quell the impulses for a day, but when it didn't he needed something else. He needed to experiment. It was a week before his trip to Greece that Adam's secret was found out. One of his co-workers had been worried about him for a while and stumbled upon him when at a club with their friends. Corey, Adam's co-worker, confronted Adam as a friend and urged him to get help. After a long talk and admitance of everything that had been going on in his life Corey advised him to take some time off and get his act together. He could claim stress over work and the wedding and Corey would help convince everyone he needed some time. When Lucy found out about his 'breakdown' she was more than supportive, so much so he felt even more guilty about it and offered a solution that they both go on a vacation to relax, kind of like a pre-honeymoon. Lucy was touched by the idea but couldn't get the time off work from the lawfirm she worked for and insisted that Adam still go. He picked a spot at random and the next thing he knew he was on his way to Athens.  Why are they in Athens now? Taking a 'leave of absense' from his life.
