Posted Halloween morning
That was messy.
Didn't know they were around.
Acid indigestion is a bitch.

Time is fleeting. Where did yesterday go?
Spinning music is only so easy when there are bandages on two of four of your arms.
But, the dance continues.

Nature's imagination is so much greater than man's. It will not let us relax.
And it's all really there, really, really there - the inconceivable nature of nature. To think about all of this... think about the vast emptiness of space. The beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that go into it, but the way those atoms are put together. The cosmos also within us are made of stars.
We are all connected. To each other, biologically. To the earth, chemically.
To the rest of the universe, atomically.
Spinning the music of science at Shanti, the songs of genius to inspire the mind, shed the material dust of the day, of the week, of this life and the lives lived before - what do you seek in this life? There is no wrong journey.

Food for thought (and, if you're fasting, relief!):
"Jesus said, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.' Americans are no longer buying it." /Newsweek, 'We Are All Hindus Now'
Scrumptious.
Durga Puja has started in India. Navatri.
New Jersey isn't quite India, but it'll do.
Recharge, renew, reignite the fire within. After the evening ceremonies, which end at 10:30, attendees will receive free vouchers for Shanti, no cover charge, to dance, dance, dance until the earth splinters beneath their and my feet. It will be rejuvenating, the devotion to Kali-ma as an incarnation of the Mother Durga because it has been suggested the time is coming, things are rising. Shanti will also be hosting a kirtan concert Sunday evening - I won't be going to the last few events in Jersey. Any and all are welcome to Shanti's evening festivities.

[Private] Notes to self:
Be patient. Your dance will end soon, and everything, everything will change, implode, explode, shards of reality shifting, tatters and pieces of Ego torn asunder.

I smell tsaziki everywhere. Has the city become one big Greek restaurant, and I'm only now noticing? Snap. And then there's this strange chemical smell, like the way new plastic smells when it melt or burns, unable to contain its New-ness. This, plus the smell of Greek food, is... disharmonious.

"Thou art the Supreme Goddess of the people," said Brahma. "Thou doth favor all of them. The world begins in thee but thou art without beginning. Thou art the cause of the Universe but thyself art causeless. Thou alone doth cause the end of the entire world while thou hast no end."
Who knew Brahma was so... Shakespearean?

It amuses me, how people blow things up in the name of celebration, in the name of freedom and change. Dazzle, dazzle, lights in the sky. Cacophony jars them out of the predictable every-day hum-drum. Independence day. Independence from what? Their material lives? Their trivial existences? No, no, no. Never that.
I wonder how they'd feel if the whole world went bang, if they'd be so elated. It could happen with a whisper, or a scream. Blood, and darkness, everlasting for a heartbeat, a new Time.
It could happen as they sleep, and they would wake to a new, strange world.

Small and carefully placed ads were stabled and plastered across the city benches, walls, windows and light posts, advertising Friday's set at Club Shanti. There was a picture in the middle of the ad of a Hindu goddess with eight arms, in a beautiful dance, wielding microphones and other various modern musical implements.

Projector screens along the walls will be showcasing scenes from Kala's favorites! Gorgeous! If you love music and dance, be there! It will be a life-altering experience! The optimism in the ad was most likely due to its writer, one of DJ Kala's employees, Uma. One of the songs that would be mixed in various ways was ( this )

Kali \Ka"li\, n. [Skr. kali.] (Hind. Cosmog.) The last and worst of the four ages of the world; -- considered to have begun B. C. 3102, and to last 432,000 years. or Kali käli, n. Hinduism One of the manifestations and cult titles of the wife of Shiva and mother goddess Devi, especially in her malevolent role as a goddess of death and destruction, depicted as black, red-eyed, blood-stained, and wearing a necklace of skulls.
"The continuous, ongoing work of Creation is described as 'the play of Kali'... Her eight arms hold weapons or the severed head of a demon: these objects symbolize both her creative and her destructive power, for Kali personifies the ambivalence of deity, which manifests itself, according to Indian tradition, in the ( unceasing cycle of life and death, creation and destruction. )
