Legolas Thranduilion

These are the words of Thranduil, of the Sindar, ruler of Mirkwood.

We are not people who put much upon the passing of years or seasons, for we are Immortal. It is nothing to us to watch the comings and goings of such seasons, the chill of spring as it promises growth, the heat of summer, the threat of cold in the fall, and the whipping freeze of the winter wind. In our long lives many things may come, many things may go from our sight, these are the things we remember, not time. When a fellow elf is born we rejoice, as I did with the birth of my son Legolas. It is he that has become the Lord of Ithilien, he who has seen much in his short life. I only wait to hear his tales, for him to mark the memories of loss, gain and beauty.

A young Man once wrote about the birth of an elf, back in the day where such sights were sacred, even among elves, to be allowed such humbled sights.

Year: Of the second age

A sharp cry among the sweet singing voices, there is a struggle upon the bed. She is with child, but soon to be relieved of the weight. The child peeks, breaks upon the earth with a quiet loss. He will now see forever into the life he leads, forever into the life that will lead him through age upon age, era upon era, until finally he may meet his death, if one be so giving as to hand him sweet death.

Elves are of the few creatures that mourn their long life, where as we humans foolishly wish ours longer. Elves know the pain and the suffering. Woe to this child, for he will see much, being the son of the King of Mirkwood.

Lord of Ithilien

Not much is known of the life of Legolas Thranduilion, until he reached that fate to become one of the Fellowship. There he entered with an age beyond his fair skin and agile nature, but his age and his oddities played out in his attire. Many there thought him odd in greens and browns, the hues of the earth he so loves. Soon they came to love him, know him, and understand him and the ways of him.

Legolas is fond of knowledge, as he seems to be full of such, knowledge of the earth and it's beings in general. He has had many years to study such, even though there seems to be few that know exactly how many years he has had to gather such knowledge. Still he learns, gleans information from the earth and those belonging to her.
