she's the one you want ♥ Samantha Madison Astor
On her Paternal side she comes from the Astor family. Her father is Christopher Astor. They originated from Germany, and made a name for themselves. Her grandfather was a horse racer, but only of purebreds. They are named for the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. They also have towns called Astor in Florida, Georgia, Iowa and Kansas. There is an Astoria in Illinois, Missouri, New York and Oregon. Along with these towns, there is an Astor Park in Wisconsin and an Astor Court and Astor Place in New York City, Chicago and a large number of town and cities That carry the family name. The New York City neighborhood of Astoria, Queens is named after the family as well.A number of Astor family members are buried in Trinity Church Cemetery in Manhattan, New York. The Astors were also prominent on Mackinac Island, Michigan. At Grand Hotel (Mackinac Island), there are the Lord and Lady Astor Suites; the hotel salon is called Astors.
The Hilton family is an American family founded by hotel magnate Conrad Hilton (1887-1979). His descendants continue to hold varying degrees of wealth and status as socialites, and some have even become famous.
The Hilton Hotels: Hilton Hotels is a international chain, founded in 1919 with the first hotel, Mobley Hotel, in Texas, and all of their hotels are of full-service hotels and resorts founded by Conrad Hilton, Samantha's grandfather, and now owned by the Hilton Hotels Corporation and her mother, Vanessa Hilton. As of 2008 there are 533 Hilton branded hotels across the world. Hilton Hotels became the first coast-to-coast hotel chain of the United States in 1943. The company places marketing emphasis on business travel, but owns and operates a number of resorts and leisure-oriented hotels as well. The company's Hilton Honors guest loyalty program has partnerships with airlines and car rental companies.
The Waldorf-Astoria Hotels: The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel is a famously luxurious hotel in New York. It has been housed in two historic landmark buildings in New York City. The hotel is the flagship of the The Waldorf-Astoria Collection, a chain of upscale hotels spun out of the Hilton Hotels and Conrad Hotels chains, as well as some new hotels. An even more luxurious, virtual "hotel within a hotel" in its upper section is known as The Waldorf Towers operated by Conrad Hotels & Resorts. The hotel has its own railway platform as part of Grand Central Terminal. An elevator large enough for Franklin D. Roosevelt's car provides access to the platform.'
In 2006 Hilton Hotels announced plans to build a second Waldorf-Astoria near Walt Disney World in Florida, and in 2007, plans were announced that another Waldorf-Astoria will be built in Beverly Hills, where Santa Monica Boulevard and Wilshire Boulevard cross. A combination hotel and condominium Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and Residence Tower has been announced by third parties to be developed for Hilton in Chicago.
Her mother met her father when she was 15 at a hotel convention. He was 25 at the time. But she lied, told him she was 18, and he took her out to dinner, hung around her a lot. They saw each other a lot at other hotel conventions. Almost a year after they met she was at a convention with her family when she got pregnant. She was barely a high school junior, and she was pregnant. Her parents were furious. They didn't know what to do. But they insisted she keep it. Abortion was not a word for their family. And besides her child would someday be heir to the Hilton fortune, Christopher wasn't sure what to do either. He was so much older than her and she wasn't even out of high school yet. Financially Vanessa was now set for life.
However, she was too young for a baby, but she managed to finish junior year, and was about to start her senior year when she got pregnant again. Any normal guy that much older than a woman would have been more careful, but now he was about to have two babies with a 17 year old girl and he was 27 years old. With Steve almost one year old, and a baby on the way, Vanessa's parents insisted they get married for the children, and rather than end up losing his whole life, and everything else, Christopher agreed. And the two got married when Steve was 2 and Samantha, their daughter turned one. Vanessa was 18 at the time. She may have been a mother and wife, but she was young, and she had a nanny and decided to go to college, enjoy herself. And enjoy herself she did. She partied, drank, came home one night, didn't come home the next. She was all over the place, and had at least one boyfriend at any given time. But Christopher wouldn't leave her. He loved her.
Her mothers whole twenties was spent with whoever else was around, and she was with her husband often enough that he didn't notice. Or maybe he pretended not to notice.
When she turned 30 she met a man who was 18, her sister was 20 at the time, only two years older than the man. Ironic, since that is the age she was when she married Chris. The man was Harrison Kalinin. At the time her kids were 14 and 13. Not much younger than Harrison. He was a college freshman, but very good looking, and looked older. Plus he was from a wealthy family, too, so she didn't have to worry that he wanted her money. She liked that he wanted her for her and not for her money. It meant she still looked hot. Even at 30. The two snuck away a lot to see each other, and even went so far as to go away on vacations together.
Last year she met Harrison's younger brother for the first time. Blake. The same age as her son. She slept with him. It happened one night at a function, Harrison was off talking business to someone, Chris was doing the same, and neither was paying attention to her. She walked off, and met Blake. Somehow, after about five too many drinks, they found themselves upstairs. It only happened the one time, though.
In between Blake and Harrison was a couple of other men, people she worked with or people her husband worked with. Always one night, or a week sometimes. Never anything serious. Harrison was the only one she kept a long term affair going with.
Seven years later, her children are all grown up, 20 and 21, her sister, Samantha's aunt, is 27, Harrison is 25, and she and Harrison are still having their affair. Chris has no idea. So she thinks. As far as she knows, no one has any idea.
Vanessa is still up to her ways, never changed, still partying with the younger crowd, still with Harrison and her children seem ok with it, not that she would change for them. She would just hide it better if they didn't like it.
Her son, Steve is 21 now, and working for his father, while Samantha is a junior at NYU and in the process of opening her own fashion line and store. She is very proud of them. But she also has a secret, that she can not tell anyone, because Blake, her one night stand from a year ago, is now the father of her first grandchild, and also her daughters soon to be ex husband.
Anyway, back to Samantha. With her family geneology, it is no wonder that Samantha ended up a huge business mongul, and fashion plate. She grew up wearing the best clothes, the newest, the stylish stuff. She had the best toys. She always knew someday she wanted her own fashion line, called Astor Madison. She wanted people to wear her stuff. She wanted her name, her clothes on billboards everywhere. She wanted people to want to be her. She wanted people to wear her name. She wanted the respect, everything that went along with being a fashion designer in New York. She had it a little easy. Her name was already famous, so all she had to do was be good, and most people would at least consider her line, just because of who she was. She is only a sophomore in college and already she has a few pieces in stores all over the city. She doesn't have her own line yet, but she is working her way up there. She is the type of girl who loves dressing up, looking pretty. She loves shopping. It is basically her hobby.
Her parents are not too happy about her being a fashion designer. Her father and her mother both want her to take over the hotel businesses someday with her brother.
But, she wants to be her own person. Have her own life, her own stuff. Not that she doesn't enjoy her parents money and name and what that gives her. She takes full advantage of the benefits of being an Astor, most of the time.
I almost forgot to add another major part of Samantha here. She's VP for her sorority, Kappa Delta Phi this year. She had never thought about joining a sorority, but when she met the girls last year she loved them. She got in, and she was one of the most active freshman in a few years. Or so they told her.
She met Akilina last year when they both started at NYU, and the became fast friends. They had fashion in common and they both loved having fun, and the fact that they live in the same building, well, they were always together. Samantha begged Akilina to pledge with her last year, and this year she is still trying to convince her friend to pledge so that they can be best friends and sisters.
