The Character
Name: Guido Carosella
Codename: Raphael
Professor/Resident/Student/Etc.: Do you need a drama teacher? He does great musical theater!

Age: 35
Birthday: (09/29/1979)
Abilities/Powers:
Flight: Guido has mutated a pair of bird-like wings from his shoulders, large enough to carry himself easily, another person comfortably and maybe one or two more awkwardly. His entire body has adapted to these wings, giving him things like extra muscles to assist in working the wings as a bird-of-prey would, his skin and eyelids evolving to withstand wind speeds, all of his senses and reflexes are attuned to three-dimensional space giving him greater awareness to move through the air, his lungs metabolize oxygen differently allowing him to climb to incredible altitudes.

Strength: As the result of getting these wings and being a little nerdy kid with something to prove, Guido can be a bit of a gym rat and therefore has incredible strength in his unique musculature. Without his mutation, he would be close to peak human condition; with his mutation, his musculature is super-human. Practically, this means he can carry people when he flies and crush at pull-ups.

Healing Blood: It hasn't been properly documented, but there is something in Guido's blood that accelerates the healing of body tissue. He hasn't done anything with it nor discovered its full properties, but Guido has notice he never gets sick and is curious how he survived that car accident oh so long ago. In time, he could learn the elements of his blood type that cause this healing factor and eventually find he can pass it to others by mixing his blood with theirs, provided they share a similar blood type. But that's just weird and not something you find out about in every day life...

Personality:

First Impressions: Look at him. LOOK AT HIM. He's a jock with abs for days and a wink and a smile for the ladies. They call him 'John Wilkes Booth' 'cause he keeps bringing guns to the theater! He's a certified G and a bonafide stud, right off the Jersey Shore and when you Google "Guido", you get the definition of the word ("Italian Americans who conduct themselves in an overtly macho manner") without his picture because he doesn't need it to be there. It's just his name. Despite CRUSHING IT at being a stereotype, he's funny and pretty easy to get along with.

At Heart: How can someone with a body like that be such a goof? I mean, he looks amazing and obviously spends a great deal of time on his appearance to get those abs, but the moment he opens his mouth he's just a big bro with a easy-going sense of humor who likes trashy TV shows, video games and pop music. Around friends, and true friends at that, he's a big nerd, naming himself after a Ninja turtle than the archangel. He's not as much as a bro's bro as he makes himself out to be in public and prefers staying in and catching up on Netflix rather that being a 24 hour party guy.
He's smarter and wittier than people expect him to be, so he doesn't show it off and adjusts himself to who he's with and what kind of face makes people more comfortable around him. He wants people to like him, his early years filled with enough social shunning that he likes to be "part of" and can read a room to play up what they want to hear or expect of him at any time.
Guido loves kids and really wants to devote himself to teaching and creating that environment he desperately needed when he was that age. He's a great listener and empathizes a lot with the outcast.

Deeper Secret: Sure he's got the body, wings, and the charm, but that outcast feeling has never gone away. People treat him differently because of how he looks and, while he plays it up at lot, he wonders if people only respond to him because of that. He also has a lot of questions about God, what looking like an angel really means when you've beaten death, and is still trying to find his faith. He's probably a lot more vulnerable and introspective than most people would expect and Guido keeps that gooey center a big secret.

History: (Minimum of four paragraphs)
Guido has always been "that guy" in one respect or another, easy to categorize than get to know. Even his parents called him "Gui" (spoken as Gee, but the point is there), being hard working first-generation Italian immigrants living in Rhinebeck, New York. Little Gui grew up happy and loved in a big family that sadly got a lot smaller.

Both his mother and father were hit by a random act of falling space debris, killing them instantly. Before the shock of this incident wore off, he moved with his aunt and uncle in Brooklyn, Williamsberg to be exact about it, and was dropped into a whole new environment called 'high school'. He was there know as the "Weird Guy", since he was an orphan, very Italian and a complete unknown to the neighborhood kids. Being small and nerdy, he was picked on constantly and learned that if he was going to be the center of attention, he might as well try and determine why. He was a class clown, playing pranks on unliked teachers and making bullies laugh as they wedgied him before homeroom. It didn't stop him from being beat up, but it at least turned some heads, including the very particular head of the prettiest girl in school. She asked him to walk her home after class and his palms sweated with the attention. Lovestruck, he met her on the corner, only to be laughed at by her bully boyfriend and his three thugs. Embarrassed, heartbroken, and more than a little afraid, Guido ran from the kids and right into the front of an oncoming bus.

This should have been it. He should have been a footnote in the yearbook. Instead, he woke up miraculously in the hospital, healing steadily in ICU. His aunt and uncle were horrified to learn that he'd been bullied to such an extent... and to learn that the doctors had found two lumps in his back that they assumed were tumors. His aunt and uncle moved him into a Catholic private school where he became "Cancer Guy". Everyone looked at him differently and gave him a wide berth, as if they could catch it. No girl wanted to date him, they just wanted to pray for him. Teachers spoke about him in hushed and somber tones, but rarely to him. Even Guido assumed he was going to die as his back ached and lumped further and started to bleed, so he just let himself fade off into the background for a year.

The summer before his senior year, the tumors became wings. His whole body hit puberty like that school bus had hit him and it was like he came back to school a new man. Instead of shying away, he was suddenly pressed as the "Wings Guy" or, to some, the "Hot Guy". Bullies feared him as the "Mutant Guy" in class they didn't understand. All eyes were on him and his self-consciousness went through the roof. Instead of retreating, however, he decided to roll with it and brought back his humor and showmanship as a cover for his utter confusion. He got into drama and dating and weights. He got a scholarship to New York State and majored in musical theater. When he turned 21, he found out his parents' death had a settlement with the US government that gave him a trust fund full of millions. He had no idea how to be the "Lucky Guy", but he was going to figure out how to give back as much as he could.

Guido knows people tend to generalize him and treat him differently because of his mutation, and while he plays into their perceptions, he longs for bigger answers as to why and how. And that's why he's at Xavier's

Anything else: The blood healing thing? Yeah, that's weird and should be discovered in game since bleeding on others isn't something that naturally occurs. If the mods are agreeable, I can save that for a later time and turn it into plot somehow. =)
