Well, not much is new by me. What's new with all of you?

I'm kidding, obviously. There's been some exciting days recently. I got dressed up and went to a series of very swanky ceremonies and parties with my girlfriend, who I really do need to bring everywhere. She's so alluring that people seldom look at me when she's around. It's wonderful. I won an Oscar. And anybody who tells you it's fun, or incredible, or anything other than the singular most bloody terrifying ten minutes of your entire life clearly has never won an Oscar. To give you an idea, I've created a re-enactment of those ten minutes, from my honest point of view.

I spent the next few days after the official end of awards season in bed with my girlfriend. Because I have earned a break. Tenenbaums wrapped at the beginning of February and I have a couple of films already lined up. What films, might you ask? Well expect more cross dressing, ,more insanity, and TEA! That is truly all I'm saying at this time. It's up to all of you to figure it out. I hope all of you out there in cyberland are well. Now if you'll excuse me, I still have three days left of my vacation, and I fully intend on doing nothing at all.

Well, in lieu of a real update, since I've been godawful busy lately, and I'm so tired I'm about ready to turn in at 830 like an old man. Sooo I'm going to just let you know some of the things I've been up to lately.

1. I went to the UK for the holidays. Kissed a pretty girl, saw my mum and dad and my best friend, drank champagne, actually danced in an actual night club (without wanting to run away screaming), and slept on a sofa fit for an elderly prostitute.

2. I shaved my head and my beard and attempted suicide. Which would be real awful news if it wasn't when I was acting on the set of the movie I'm filming, which wraps at the end of the month, and should be out around next fall.

3. I've had a couple of offers to do more films- some great, some not so great. I may or may not be the next mad hatter, and dress up in drag in the near future. But I won't be doing any more action movies for a while, I think.

4.I had the most incredible, incredible, perfectly wonderful birthday I've had in a long while. I don't care that we had to order chinese food in the middle of the night because dinner got completely ruined. It was still wonderful.

5. I was given a golden globe. Thanks. But that part's still baffling, and in the long run, not the beginning or the end of anything. Awards are lovely, it's always nice to be recognized and appreciated, but that's not why I do this. I just want to make the kind of movies that make people think and feel and talk.

6. I let my father drive (and crash) a fine rented luxury car. But other than that my parents had a lovely time in Los Angeles, and will be staying on here until the end of next month for a proper visit.
