A bit late to the party, but I just wanted to say that I've been looking everywhere for just this kind of understanding of the parallels between Harry and Snape. I'm still feeling my way through Snarry - old and new - but it seems like the very cream of the crop gets this in a fundamental way; this and the potential that exists in the remedying of their mutual misunderstandings. Very beautiful, and now I'm excited to have the collected writings of a new (to me) author to plunder! :D
(Also - the rain on Harry's glasses and the kiss in the storm - made my day.)
