Role/Power: God of love, sexual desire, intercourse, and even fertility. Archer for Aphrodite. Power to change one's heart. For creating love within someone, he fires golden arrows, and for indifference, he uses leaden ones. He would shoot these into both gods and mortals

Personality: Eros takes pride in his God of Love work. He was described by Sappho as bittersweet and cruel to his victims, yet also charming and very beautiful. He is also very mischievous and cunning, going around and making mischief in causing those around him to fall in love. However, he is indeed a playful god. To those he is loyal too, he'll do just about anything for them.

Other than that, he loves to party and meet people, and he does have an inkling of loyalty within him towards his closer friends (if he has any). Sex to him is another past-time, but he knows in the plagues of his mind that there's more to it.

Biographical
Myth
By many poets and stories, Eros' birth has been depicted in a variety of ways. However, this Eros was born of Aphrodite and Ares.
Stesichorus, Fragment 575 (trans. Campbell, Vol. Greek Lyric III) (C5th B.C.) : "[Eros] You cruel child of guileful Aphrodite, whom she bore to Ares."

Eros is very close to Aphrodite, and a close companion to her. He is practically always by her side. Once Aphrodite and Eros went to Syria and the river Euphrates where Typhon had appeared. To escape, Aphrodite and Eros lunged into the river and transformed into fish. This caused the Syrians to stop eating fish so they would not seem opposed to the gods, or actually trap the gods.

When Aphrodite became jealous of a mortal beauty, Psyche, she sent Eros to shoot her in the heart with his arrow to cause her to fall in love with the ugliest man on earth. However, Eros when coming down to carry out this plan, had caught sight of Psyche and fell in love with her himself (some legends say he nicked himself with one of his arrows to fall in love). Every night he would visit her, and order Psyche not to light her chamber so that she would not see him. Psyche fell in love with Eros, however curiosity overcame her and one night she lit a lamp and saw Eros. A hot drop of oil from the lamp awoke him, and he became angry and left, and Psyche began to roam the earth in search of him. Psyche was advised to seek out Aphrodite, and when she did, Aphrodite set her to multiple difficult tasks, which lead her to the Underworld to reclaim some of Aphrodite’s lost beauty. However, Psyche on the way out with the box, opens it and an infernal sleep rises from the box and causes her to sleep. Eros though had forgiven her and sought her out, taking away the sleep and putting it back in the box, wakening her. He flies up to Zeus though, and requests to be married, and Zeus feeling pity consents to this, giving Psyche a drink of immortality. This is the only person shown that Eros has been struck with love for.

Although Eros has shot many gods with his arrows of passion, a few goddesses have not felt the source of inflamed love. These include Artemis, Athena, and Hestia.

Eros especially paid attention to Zeus' many love antics with mortal women. He had twelve special bows for twelve different mortal woman that Zeus would have desire for. On one occasion, when Eros was flying back to the house of Zeus, the girl Semele was outside, catching the eye of Zeus. Eros noticed this, and he shot his fifth arrow which was ordained for this, and fired it at Zeus. However, the arrow merely scratched the god's thigh. Still, Zeus was inflamed with desire and love for Semele, his hear bewitched in admiration for her.

Another time, Aphrodite and Hephaestus were making iron weapons in the Lemnos forge for the Erotes. In her sweet honey, Aphrodite dipped the arrow tips and Eros added the gall. Ares came though and poked fun at Eros' weapon, and being the god he was, Eros tossed it at Ares for him to try out the heaviness of it. However, Ares took the javelin and was told to keep it by Eros.

Apollo one day had the boldness to ridicule the power and skill of Eros and his bow. To prove that his bow indeed holds mighty destructive power too, Eros took two arrows; a golden one and a leaden one. The first golden arrow he released and shot it into Apollo. The leaden one had pierced the Nymph Daphne's heart. Because of this, Apollo wold flee after Daphne for love, but she would flee away from love. This is probably why Apollo and Eros don't get along.

In a story of comfort, Eros had approached the heartbroken, mourning Dionysus disguised as a Seilenos holding a thyrsus. Eros offered kind words to Dionysus of how he should allow another love to spark in him; that the medicine for healing is to fancy a better boy and he goes on to tell him of the tale of Kalamos and Karpos. This was indeed an act of gentle friendship.

In a conniving instance with Aphrodite, Eros was ordered by her to place passion in both Poseidon and Dionysus to fall for Aphrodite's daughter Beroe. Promised the marriage harp of gold, Eros agreed to the request. He struck both gods who immediately fell for Beroe. In a contest of love, Poseidon had won the love of her, and Dionysus was grieved at the loss. In consolation though, Eros gave Dionysus another love: Ariadne. After accomplishing a set of tasks to win Ariadne, Eros had crowned Dionysus with a wreath heralded for weddings.

There are many more stories out there of Eros releasing his arrows of love among more gods, and many times among men. One of the more famous stories being with Medea and Jason of the Argonauts. The list goes on, but from all these stories, the bond between Aphrodite and Eros is apparent, and so is Eros' love for mischief.

Before the Coup of Cronus: Eros was still going about his mischievous activities of causing others to fall in love. He wasn’t involved in the specific planning for the coup, so his life was just normal.
During the Coup: Eros sided with his mother and close companion, Aphrodite, of course. His loyalties lied with her, so he fought beside her, not desiring at all to abandon her. He also fought alongside his brothers, his ties to them stronger than those on the other side.

Mortal
Eros was reborn as Damien, who was born into a moderately wealthy family in York. He is the youngest among four, an age difference of nearly seven years between him and his next closest sibling. Therefore, his parents are quite older, making it harder for him to connect with them and his siblings as he was growing up. He attended a Catholic boarding school for grade and middle school. However, he was definitely a trouble maker. One time he saran-wrapped a boy to his bed, and woke him up by blasting music in the room. From the multiple pranks he would pull, the nuns would continually discipline him with lashes to the thighs, or bops to the head.

Despite his mischievous pranks, he obtained many friends. Maybe it was his playful attitude. However, they may have found him fun and attractive, but he never felt close attachments to these people. Since he was young, he just knew there was something different between him and those around him. It didn’t bother him too much though, as he still found it fun to mess with others. Currently, Damien still considers himself conniving and more on the playful side.

In high school, Damien began to explore his sexual side. He began to realize that he was a magnet of lust. Girls, guys, teachers, all began to become overcome with his beauty. He figured it was the cool attitude, or the casual smirks, or even the god-like body he grew into. Either way, he used this to his advantage, discovering more of what it meant to even have a sexual life. He studied it more as an art form though as a fun, harmless past-time that most saw it as. Soon he began to master the art of seduction along with the intuition of feelings, whether it was dealing with someone’s feelings of infatuation, lust, or even love – he could tell. But after a while, every person began to just seem the same, boring if you will; always searching for the false love that doesn’t fulfill anything. So those who came to him looking for sex or relationships, he played the matchmaker and sent them to someone else. Since, he hasn’t involved his own self in any relationships, long or short.

Why is he in Athens now? He attended college in York, which was probably the main reason as to why he needed to get away once graduating and earning his degree in psychology. The memory of going into a small convenience store, and looking at the maps near the counter crossed his mind. He remembered picking up one on Greece, specifically Athens. That sparked an interest within him, and he felt like after college, he would start his life there. It was easy for his family to let him go as they were never really close.

Once in Athens, Damien sought out a simple job where he could focus on his enjoyments outside of work. So now he’s working for the postal service in the city, enjoying the walks around the designated area as he delivers mail. This has allowed him to study people more, and even build a few friendships here and there. He definitely enjoys it in Athens much more than York, whether it’s the air or the smell, he doesn’t quite know why.

Present location where they are staying: Damien lives in a flat in Gazi. He enjoys the smaller, yet still vibrant atmosphere of the area. He delivers mail in Kolonaki though.

Dreams or Feelings of Past: Damien since he was young has had lots of dreams of just flying through the air. Sometimes he has wings and sometimes he just flies on top of something that looks to be a bow. These dreams always leave him feeling renewed in the morning, ready to start the day. However, now living in Athens, he’s been having flashes of unfamiliar faces. Not only that, but his visions of flying are becoming more vivid and distinct. He occasionally dreams of flying up beyond the clouds to a place beyond description too. He tries to push it from his mind when he’s awake as it’s only a dream after all.
