The March Hare

11:05pm: Ok, wow. I think I said it before, but the thing isn’t even big enough to actually eat anyone and if it was, it couldn’t because it’s just mechanics and metal. It’s just a miniature to scale model. That my professors were very impressed with, by the way. And the Mythbusters episode that inspired it is still awesome. Those guys are seriously geniuses. I kind of want to be them when I grow up

4:00am: I love it when Mythbusters picks things from movies to try out. It’s a shame laser technology hasn’t progressed enough for them to even be able to test out whether a laser can pop popcorn or not. I think the movie they got the idea from, Real Genius , is on sometime today. The popcorn scene is seriously one of the best parts of the whole movie. I’m having the insane urge to make huge amounts of popcorn before I sit down to watch it. If only I could make it with a laser

9:15pm: I’ve been meaning to mention, but I got a care package from my parents. As always, my mom sent way too much of her vegetable lasagna and I had to freeze a lot of it, but I feel greedy not sharing, so if anyone wants some feel free to help yourself.

6:30pm: Uh- yeah. That one was kind of out of left field. Just because I’ve been ridiculously busy with school and not here as much doesn’t mean I’m miserable. Trying to finish two majors in four years kind of takes up a lot of time, even if one of them is a lot more laid back than the other. And if I didn’t like both of them enough to make the effort, I would have picked something else in the first place.

5:19am: You know, it’s weird. That actually looked like the uniforms McNairy Central used to have. They somehow beat us out of the state championship my junior year by a tenth of a point even though we won the awards for marching and musicality. Completely unfair, since it was pretty much due to their overload of electronics with using microphones for their soloists and sticking electric guitar and other stuff that just didn’t fit into their pit. It would have been nice to at least be beaten by someone with originality since fields shows based on Holst The Planets were way overdone a few years after the Cavaliers won world with one in 1995. But oh well. Guess I’m still a little bitter about that one.


And oh yeah, I’m not gay. I don’t care if you want proof, you’ll just have to take my word.

10:44am: Ok, so……..exactly how many people at the mansion did you guys sign up for eHarmony? Very funny. Really. Is it practical joke season?

6:28pm: This cure thing. Everyone’s- ok, right? I know there were supposed to be side effects and everything, but I mean, that’s with any medication, right? And especially one that’s still in trials and testing phases like this one is and the FDA wouldn’t have let it out if they were that bad. Hopefully. But I’m guessing there hasn’t been anything bad, at least not with anyone here because someone would have said something, right? I’m hoping they would have. I wish no one was taking it to begin with but that’s-

And I’ve been thinking- do we even really know exactly how this thing works? I’m assuming just power nullification? Since altering someone at the genetic level to technically make them not a mutant should be- impossible, I’m guessing? At least, not without major dna resequencing which- is that even possible? I mean, genetics isn’t exactly a core subject for me or anything but I do remember everything from my bio courses. So….after taking it, they’re still a mutant, just one with no powers. I don’t know, I could be way off here, but it all just- makes me think, I guess.

1:21am: After all that, I don't guess anyone's up for a viewing of Nightmare Before Christmas, are they? I'm in the middle of a Danny Elfman kick and that's next on the list.

7:24am: What's all this talk of wolves? There's only supposed to be one, right? Who's Big and Bad? And I'm not sharing those pigs with any of you, so back off!

9:18am: I know everyone's focused on the Olympics, and they're awesome and great and amazing, but I am seriously still ecstatic since Phantom Regiment won World Championships this year! I know a lot of people haven’t even heard of Phantom or DCI but I mean- WOW. Take THAT, Blue Devils! Phantom's only won once before and that was in 1996 in a tie with the BD. If anyone could have taken the title from them this time, I KNEW Phantom could do it. I knew it!

Sometimes I really miss drum corp and marching for Phantom. I really really should audition again before I age out and can't anymore.

1:49am: I kind of never got around to the last question since I wasn't sure if the having already died thing would negate my answer or not. And this one is- ending up a little bit creepy and weird, I actually agree with Cal for once. Someone check the underworld for icicles.

I don't think this is what they had in mind for prompting us to write in our journals. But asking when did this school get so weird is probably like asking why the sky is blue at this point.

3:35pm: I just got a care package from mom. I'm pretty sure she sent at least twice as much vegetarian lasagna as she usually does. As delicious as it is, there's no way I could even try to eat it all by myself, so there's plenty of extra in the fridge if anybody wants some.

4:12am: Did we really get through this just to come back and start bickering and taking potshots at each other? Come on, guys, please. Could we at least all be nice to each for maybe a week? I think everyone deserves it and needs it.
