I love it when Mythbusters picks things from movies to try out. It’s a shame laser technology hasn’t progressed enough for them to even be able to test out whether a laser can pop popcorn or not. I think the movie they got the idea from, Real Genius , is on sometime today. The popcorn scene is seriously one of the best parts of the whole movie. I’m having the insane urge to make huge amounts of popcorn before I sit down to watch it. If only I could make it with a laser

Speaking of Mythbusters type things, project Mini Bruce was a success! I can’t thank you guys enough for helping me out with this, really. We can take him out for a proper inaugural run if you guys want to whenever you’re free. I found an extended version of the Jaws theme and downloaded it to play as background music and I got some of those little floating people they put in fish tanks we can toss into the lake for him to menace. At the least, it’ll make for a really awesome picture!

I'd almost totally forgotten about Awesome, I'm glad it all worked out and taking Mini Bruce out on the lake sounds like a great idea, I can even make the little people try to swim away from him. It'll be magical.

Holy crap, I hadn't even thought about that but it's a PHENOMENAL idea! I'm so bringing a camcorder so we can preserve this for future enjoyment.

Excellent, we'll toss a Barbie and Ken in there too and it'll be like social commentary or something, or maybe I just want to see Barbie eaten by a shark... This is making want to watch Jaws again.

This scene just keeps getting better! It's got to be on tv somewhere. I mean, if Real Genius is on, Jaws has got to be on somewhere too. It's only logical. And very statistically probable now that I think about it, especially considering it's summer.

All we need now is a boat for Mini Bruce to launch himelf onto and we're all set to re-enact the whole thing. I'm totally going to tivo it when I see it on, I think this summer might be all about movies with outdated special effects for me.

A boat? I can so take care of that! And I think the little divers even come with air tanks, just for aesthetics, so that's a bonus too. There's something to be said for outdated special effects, though! Especially for it's time, Jaws was pretty progressive and so were a lot of other movies. Close Encounters of the Third Kind? Definitely not the best effects ever, but still amazing.

Oh, ok, sorry! That's all yours, then. I'm just really excited at how well this turned out and don't want to miss commemorating it. You guys are amazing to a degree I can't even figure out right now for helping me out with this.

Well, I didn't do much, but no problem. It'll be fun to see how it functions for myself, definitely. I'll be out there to document the inaugural run.

That's going to be your response to every entry I make, isn't it? Sorry, Jack, but you're not spoiling my excitement on this one.

Thanks, Caroline. I'm ignoring him anyway. Even the surliness of Jack can't rain on my Mythbusters parade.

Awesome, the more the merrier! And yeah, I am! I've just been commuting back and forth from NYU. I would have said hello on your post but...I just now found it. I get so caught up in stuff I sometimes forget about the journals like a spaz. I'm only taking one class this summer so between that and band practices I'll have a lot more free time so making myself be not so...forgetful should be easier. Welcome back, though! I'm so glad we're getting nice people now instead of
