A way to lay low from the American authorities until he reached eighteen. He showed up to the airport with just enough to buy whatever ticket was on the discount. Which just so happened to be in Greece. Major cosmic significance or simple coincidence? None but Rhea knows. Now at the onset of Eighteen a year later, he's free to relax and engage foolish behavior like chasing girls. At night he performs at random tourist hotspots as a street musician. Location in Athens: Owns a third rate little slum of an apartment in Monastiraki, but spends most of his time chasing girls all over the city and performing wherever there's a crowd. What has he dreamt or felt and thought of his true past? Although he's never realized it directly, nature has always seemed to respond in his presence. AS a child Jack grew annoyed with animals for following stupidly until he was practically encircled. And guess who was supposedly clean up their "mess"? This added by the fact that on a farm the animals had very clever ways of opening their gate just to graze outside his window. An infuriating habit. The emergence of the wild also forced Jack to mow the grass abnormally more then any other kid in the district! If it had been up to Grayson he would have left it be and just idly watched the wild flowers and crab grass springing up, but his adopted parents had other plans. In his free time however, theses feelings changed. Often the boy dreamed of mountainous peaks, and not just those of Colorado. Upon his head he bears the horns of a ram and at his feet the hooves. His lower torso and legs are also marked by the earthy brown fur of a ram. AS a mortal: Often mucky and unkept, Jack is the photo of an urchin. Although Never really growing grooming problems, Jack's body has seemingly adapted to living in the outdoors. He often carried no smell at all about except that of his environment and his clothes stayed remarkably bearable. His hair is very shaggy and seemingly has a mind on his own. Growing rabidly when cut. He usually carries a bit of facial hair, clinging to life about his chin and his skin carries a natural tan of living in the sun. Psychological: Extravert/Introvert: Introvert Sensing/Intuition: intuitive Thinking/Feeling: Feeling Judging/Perceiving: judging Hobbies and Interests: Born only a short time after Dionysus and younger then most, Pan has always felt a certain detachment form the politics of Olympia. This was mostly due to the Olympic reaction to a god half man, half animal. It left a certain sting in most lips. For Pan's physical attachment to nature was a sign all to similar to that of the ancient titan ways. The wall of solace imposed on the nature god left Pan highly introverted about his feelings. He would often hide himself behind a mask of nonsensical joy. Chasing women here and there. Pan's hidden emotions only further energized his championing of the wilder world. He always felt the older days best despite his youth. Long would he speak with Rhea of her youth. Of the way the world was then and how he felt joy about it. Everything felt bigger and larger then life then. It was this passion that led the faun god to nature and championing its right.Pan would often seek solace with his followers and few friends. Playing music to small parties hidden in the grooves of the wild. It was there he knew happiness. Relations Friends: Especially close to Hermes his father, Dionysus whom was like an older brother, And Rhea who treated Pan motherly. Enemies: Pan has never been much of an Apollo fan. And vice versa, their roles have always been mirrored. Where Apollo was civilized, Pan was rustic. Romantic Status: single. Significant Other: none Sexual Preference: Heterosexual Present Interests: none Past Relationships: Many Nymph lovers. held an unrequited love for Syrinx once Likes: Hermes, Dionysus, Rhea, Demeter, Gaia, Artemis, Hectate, Persephone And other Rustic, earthy gods Dislikes: Apollo, Hephaestus, Industrialization Biographical Myth: Pan was born to the joy of his mother, The Daughter of Dryopos, and his father, Hermes- the god of Thieves. It is said that he sprang forth from his mother into the arms of Hermes as a satyr at birth. Laughing with delight in his fathers arms. This terribly frightened the midwife, and sent her in a great panic. And so she ran shrieking into the night. The luck god smiled at his son and traveled far with him. Into the lands of Olympus to show his pride to the gods. They received him merrily, especially Dionysus. As Pan matured and grew into a youthful god, he withdrew more and more from the Olympians. Becoming something of a recluse, a hunter of the wild. He never strayed to far out of the wild and kept out of contact with human civilization. For when mortal men looked upon him, as half Man Half Ram, they grew mad with panic and fled as had his mother's midwife. This discouraged the young god further from people. He grew to love the land of Greece. Visited the deep woodlands, high mountains, and sloping hills. Yet as he neared adult hood, Pan found himself not entirely alone in the forest, and looked upon Nymphs. He earned a penchant for lust. And quickly became a Nymph Chaser, laughing as he ran after their affections. Several of which bore him children. Yet one or two, especially eluded his grasp. One he chased to desperation, until exhausted she transformed into a pine tree. To which that tree became sacred to the god of the wild. Another nymph fled from him into a similar change of mountain beech. But it was among the cold mountains of Arcadia where the nymph Syrinx especially stole the goat god's heart. Long did he chase her, night and day she fled from his hands. Until at last on the verge of giving up, the Nymph came upon a river and found her path blocked. Hearing Pan running after her, the Nymph desperately begged for her water sisters. She asked the River Nymphs to change her form into that of something else. When at last Pan arrived, he ran to Syrinx in an embrace, only to find a water reed in his hands instead of a girl. Despair settled in at the loss of what he thought was true love, the youth god deeply sighed. Yet, when the sigh was released a bewitching melody sung forth from the reeds. Struck by passion, Pan began laughing deeply. And shouted forth, that Syrinx and he would be in unison forever. It was then that the Reed pipes were born. To which he named after his lost love, Syrinx. It was during this time the god of the wild side of earth became more sure of himself. He taught shepherds among the fields of Arcadia the pipe-reeds and would speak of prophecy to them. He would often be seen silently in the company of the mother Goddess Rhea with whom he was fond. He was especially fond of Dionysus and would play the pipes to his wild dances. He traveled many times with both Rhea and Dionysus as a youthful companion. He even once managed to seduce the moon goddess, Selene. Yet, most of the Olympians Pan disliked. None more especially then the arrogant Apollo who loftily thought so highly of himself. Apollo being the god of civilized music, and Pan the god of rustic music. Their rivalry escalated to the breaking point, when Pan tired of Apollo's supposed skill, challenged him to a contest. With his lyre against Pan's pipes. Apollo accepted the challenge and they both agreed to hold it with the mountain god Tmolus as the judge. Pan played his pipes against Apollo's lyre and was defeated. Tmolus awarded the victory to Apollo. Outraged by the decision, one of Pan's followers, Midas declared the choice unjust. Then Apollo out of bitter respite and jealousy transformed the ears of Midas into that of an Ass. To which Pan has never forgiven the sun god. Before the War: Pan became more and more fearful of Man kind and the human's utter lack of care for the older world around them. The destruction of nature in favor of industrialization angered the nature god and Pan withdrew from the world completely and into the wild. Traveling to and from sacred grooves only, Pan cut most of his contact with Olympus to near nothing. He grew bitter, thinking no one cared for the wild any longer. War: Pan was one of the few gods whom had no part to play in the second war of the titans at all. He was by now a hermit. He did not become entangled until after Cronus felt victory. When he then turned his eye to any who might pose a threat, and the wild god was quickly stamped out and defeated. Yet, Mother Rhea had always had a special place in her heart for the Satyr and rescued him along with all her children. Where he was reborn into the very thing Pan had come to hate, a human. Mortal: Jack grew up in the small town of Brush, Colorado. Orphaned at birth, for most of his life Grayson knew only the catholic life, until he was adopted by a family of nobody farmers at the age of six. Despite it all or maybe because of it, Jack carried a certain rebellious streak. Early on in life it was clear he was not a farmer. Yet he did posses some skill with the animals on the farm. Where animals might buck and bite, they just seemed to obey him without words. Something the boy never bothered to explore. He was far to self absorbed in his own world. Often drifting off day dreaming. This was also the case socially as well. Jack would respond to conflict with a reckless mask of insincerity. Posing as he played along life without a care, the boy day dreamer would often laugh openly at the tactics his adopted parents used when trying to reign him in. When he grew older, young Grayson had terrible trouble at school. He just never could pay attention to anything at all and his school work suffered from it. Later he would remark that the only constant thing in his life had been the looming peaks of the Colorado mountains. At night Jack sometimes found himself compelled to leave his window open with the curtains brushed back. So that he could gaze into the mountains. Always so far away they were, and yet so close. When he dreamed on those nights, he could feel a tug from within. Could see mountains further and further away than in Colorado, yet closer still. Very few things called to the boy like those mountains at night. Another one of Grayson's few outlets of passion was his harmonica. Given to him at a young age by an EX girlfriend whom had moved away, shifting away with her parents despite Jack's brash feelings and his claim that they could stay together forever. In his despair the young boy had turned to music. And really became quite good. Although the more complicated instruments still posed a problem to the boy who refused to learn. He never did learn how to read music or actually show up for class! Along with those mountains, music became the only constant in his ever changing life. He dearly loved the harmonica, ocarina, and strangely the pipes. Around the age of seventeen after an especially painful fight with his parents, Jack decided to run away. He saved up enough for a bus ticket and left for New York City. And when he got there what did he do? He promptly starved and became another urchin. Yet even urchins have a way of finding themselves. Jack found himself through his music. He became a street musician, and even started his own band with some friends. And he was damn good. Good enough to be noticed by the police. Whom discovered the boys stealing. In a hasty retreat, the youth fled to the airport with what money he had saved up and made yet another change in his life. That was a year ago. Now Jack has moved out of country and into Athens, Greece. Where the eighteen year old now lives playing music for money. Always living on the outside with a smile and musical charm.
