It's hard to describe Seymour. He's quiet and thoughtful, more likely to stare blankly than engage somebody in conversation. He is, according to the girls in the high school, categorized as either 'creepy' or 'dreamy'. His 'beauty knows no words' has come up once or twice, as well as critiques on his hair. If somebody is lucky enough to get past the cool outer shell of Seymour Guado, they'll find that he's a surprisingly warm person with an easy laugh and an unquenchable love of music. He loves to cook for his friends, and stand on the roof of his building playing his violin.

[HISTORY]

Seymour was never a normal child. From a young age, he had a strange fascination with death. He would catch daddy long legs and pull their legs off, stick pins into the bodies of spiders who made their webs against walls, and burn ants with a magnifying glass. His parents, a congressman and a police officer, were far too busy to notice that their son was... well, he was kind of messed up. His nanny noticed, however, and made several comments to Mrs. Guado. It wasn't that his mother wasn't attentive. She wasn't Mrs. X from the Nanny Diaries. But she was busy. She made time, though, when she heard her son was the bane of the insect world. At least three evenings a week were set aside for 'mommy and me' time, and Seymour became happy. He doted upon his mother, becoming just south of clingy. When she was killed in a botched undercover job, it destroyed him. He became withdrawn, even worse than he was before the incident. It could be said that he was emo, if not for the fact that he hated the color black.

When Seymour was fifteen, his father killed himself. The man had been so overwrought with grief over losing his wife that nothing else seemed to matter anymore. He'd quit his job just before his presidency campaign, and dragged Seymour to Canada. Specifically Spira, drawn to it's small town promises. But the new atmosphere wasn't enough, and the man was horribly depressed. Finally one night, while coasting on whiskey and anxiety medication, the once proud man of congress hanged himself in the family kitchen. Seymour was the one to find him, and it drove the already disturbed teenager over the edge. He packed his bags and left, calling the police from his cell phone while on the road in his father's new Jeep. After a quick stop to have a fake ID made, and another at the twenty-four hour drug store near the movie theater, Seymour checked into a hotel. That night he bleached out his long hair to a brittle white blond, and dyed it bright blue. He wasn't sure why then, and if asked now he still doesn't know. But it's something that he's kept doing over the years. The next day, freshly dyed and just a little drunk on countless bottles from the mini bar, fifteen year old Seymour Guado, using his fake ID and a thick envelope of cash, rented a beautiful town house at the edge of Spira, near the high school. He never went back to the home he'd shared with his father for seven years, save the one time he needed to go back to get more money from his father's vault. He would receive his inheritance when he turned eighteen, but for now he needed the hard cash kept there to stay alive.
