Early in the Summer of 2021, Professor Anthony Flynn, Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizadry, received an owl addressed from the Minister of Magic himself. There was to be a meeting at the British Ministry of Magic the following Saturday to discuss an important issue. The Headmaster was intrigued by the vague nature of the letter but decided it was best to send a reply stating that he would attend. The day came and Headmaster Flynn connected his office fire to the Floo Network in order to transport himself to the Ministry of Magic. The Headmaster walked into the designated doorway to see an array of other wizards and witches sitting there waiting for him. The Headmaster immediately recognized Kingsley Shacklebolt, the British Minister of Magic, sitting next to a pudgy little witch in black robes with a light blue scarf around her neck. Flynn realized that this woman was from the French Ministry of Magic. Her name was Amalie Nuveau, and she was the Head of International Magical Cooperation for her Ministry and was here acting on behalf of the Minister who could not attend but sent his wishes for the project along with Madame Nuveau. As the Minister introduced the Headmaster to the rest of the delegates in the room there was a distinct pattern. All of the people within the room hailed from either the Eastern European Ministry, Great Britain, or France. ‘There could only be one reason for such an esteemed group to assemble,’ Headmaster Flynn thought, but before he could make any more silent assumptions his suspicions were verified. The door to the room swung open and in walked the Highmaster of Durmstrang Institute, Friedrich von Amsel, followed by the Headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Madame Trifine Dubois.      They were planning another Triwizard Tournament. The meeting ended in a unanimous consensus that the Tournament would be a good idea to encourage International Cooperation among the students. The Highmaster offered to do something his predecesors were afraid to do: He offered Durmstrang as the host school for the event. Plans were underway immediately and the Tournament would take place the following year. All of the preparations were made so when the students arrived at their respective schools they were informed during their opening speeches that the time of the Triwizard Tournament had come again. They were hoping, this time, no one would die. The Headmaster of Hogwarts and Headmistress of Beauxbatons were charged with the most important task of selecting twelve of their brightest, best, and most promising students to accompany them to Durmstrang for the year in order for the chance to compete in the Tournament. Each student was reminded of the danger entailed before they were allowed to accept the invitation. Finally, the students were chosen and the time to join their friends to the North was close at hand. The main idea of this game is bring together the three largest European Wizarding schools for the exciting experience that is the Triwizard Tournament. The age limit is still seventeen as students are required to be of age before they can participate in the event. This means that only Sixth and Seventh years are going to be able to compete. The students’ birthday must fall before the Goblet of Fire is set out to accept names on the 30th of October. For those who don’t wish to participate Durmstrang would be happy to have you. There are plenty of spots for people to join that have no interest of being Champion, but for those who do this may be a real treat. We look forward to playing this fantastic and fun game that opens up a whole new world to the Harry Potter legacy! BACK TO TOP |
