She nodded in thanks to his sympathy to her fallen soldier. Anger and regret still burned hot inside of her over that loss. She and the others would finally mourn his loss when they returned him to his family. For now she had to get the others and herself out.
"Damn it..."
She grit her teeth at the information he was giving her. But they had a chance. They all decided that, huh? She took a deep breath and let it out through her lips as the weight of the situation was weighing on her. She knew what they had to do.
"I better get them going. We'll take our chances on the pass. Thank you, my friend. Stay safe. I'll send you word when I get back to base."
