curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back Standing six feet tall, and skinny, Arthur's been trying to add muscle to a frame that simply wants to be lean for ages. He's finally come to accept that a bit, luckily. He has the red hair that's become synonymous with Weasley (if you don't count his dad...) and laughing blue eyes. His eyesight has actually recently begun to go bad, but not to the point where he can't see yet. Instead, he mostly squints a lot when there are far away things he must read. He sits at the front of the class for this reason. Arthur is constantly waging a war between 'how awesome is it to be able to grow facial hair, beards are fun!" and "get it off, get it off, this shite is itchy". This means that he'll usually go a few weeks without shaving, and then spend a week shaving every day before deciding he's showing far too much of his pale skin and go back to trying to grow a beard. Outside of his school uniform, Arthur has recently acquired a dragonhide coat that he won't take off. It's his new favourite possession, and he wears it with pretty much everything. He'd put it on under his robes if he could, but he figures he's had enough problems with the authority at school between getting caught out during curfew and the occasional poorly-hidden Muggle item. The coat is really the only piece of clothing he owns that is worth anything, since the Weasleys aren't exactly poor, but with his mother's disownment and housewife status, they aren't exactly the wealthiest either. But they make due, and Arthur doesn't mind it at all. Walking down the hall, you probably notice first that he is a tall, pale man with bright red hair. Then you notice the energy with which he's walking- a pep in his step that is unmistakable. Arthur loves school, loves learning, and so he is usually happy to be there and it shows in his walk. He's usually smiling, and giving a nod and a first-name greeting to almost everyone. PERSONALITY But like numbers are perfect, that's how this has been for me, and I hope that I still give you everything you need. “Gryffindor Aquarians are the social activists and loons of their House. They'll picket for House Elf Liberation. They'll wear their robes inside out because they spent all night reading, not pay attention to how they dressed the next day, and not care if their rumpled appearance is pointed out to them. They are intellectual rebels and will loudly defend their opinions, even if doing so makes enemies. They are apt to question authority. "Even Merlin was wrong, some of the time," they'll say, shrugging. They can be flamboyantly talented, but are less interested in using their talent to "make it big" than in using it to make a better life for themselves or other people.Arthur is, for the most part, a very laid-back and easy-going guy. He gets upset when people judge others on uncontrollable things such as who their parents are or how much money they happen to have, choosing for himself to judge people based on how they treat others. Generally, this means that most people like him, as he greets pretty much everyone as a future friend, letting them prove themselves not to be trusted rather than seeing anyone new as an instant threat/enemy. Of course, this sort of attitude means that sometimes he can be too trusting, and can get burned by it. Arthur doesn't put much stock in "fitting in" for fitting in's sake. He'd rather be himself, and let everyone else be themselves as well. Trying to climb the food chain doesn't hold much appeal to him when the alternative is being happy with yourself. Having grown up entirely in the wizarding world, Arthur is fascinated by Muggles and how they're able to cope in the world without the magic that is such an integral part of his own daily life. He has a very hard time containing his excitement around Muggles as well as their objects. Despite recognizing the differences between Muggles and wizards, Arthur's never believed that those without magic are somehow lesser than wizards. He thinks the two communities would benefit from a bit more co-operation. And also, airplanes are crazy, how do they do that! Obviously both worlds could learn from each other, he thinks. He has the same enthusiasm for most learning, actually. He actually thought he'd end up sorted in Ravenclaw because of it. Sometimes he gets too caught up in his excitement, overlooking dangers to himself- and on occasion others- in order to learn something new. Arthur has a bit of a romantic soul. While he enjoys making grand gestures to show his affection, he also knows that real love isn't in the loud, showy parts. He believes it's in the every day actions- a kiss before work, a cup of tea prepared just the way you like it, something small brought home from the market because you were thinking of the other person. It's not just a willingness to lay down your life in their stead, but also a willingness to merge and thus change your lives into a cohesive whole that is stronger than the parts that came before it. He would never say this out loud to his mates, though. With his friends, he does his best to show he cares by being the listening ear. When needed, he;s happy to do nothing but sit there and listen, really listen, to a friend's woes, offering nothing but a chance to alleviate their worries. He's also very physically affectionate, with friends as well as girlfriends. HISTORY My mind is not what it used to be, that certainly isn't news to me, but I want to know how my life was spent The children of Septimus and Cedrella were almost destined to be anomalies. The only dark-haired Weasley and the disgraced, blood-traitor Black daughter- how could their kids even hope to be normal? When Billius was born, it was the final nail in the coffin for Cedrella's former family- luckily she never wanted to return there anyway. Ignatius quickly followed, and then there was Arthur. A traditional family, Septimus kept up his work at the Ministry and let Cedrella raise their children, which she was very happy to do. She loved her sons, and adored spending time with them. She taught all three of them the basic skills they'd need before entering Hogwarts. And so Arthur was raised in a family with a lot of love, and a lot of loud and boisterous laughter. He and his brothers participated in broom races almost constantly, and Arthur always had a game of wizard's chess to play with his father on the weekends- though he was rubbish at it, he enjoyed the stories his father told. When it came time for him to start learning maths and english and the other classes his brothers took in their kitchen, he found it hard to slip into a structured kind of learning. Arthur was bright- brighter than his brothers actually- but he liked to learn things his own way. He didn't care about the fact that X equaled Z, he wanted to know why, and what the purpose of it all was. Cedrella tried to be accommodating, but sometimes she would look back and realize she'd spent a whole day of lessons on one of Arthur's random questions, and the other boys were off playing. First Billius was sent off to King's Cross, and Arthur tagged along, eyes wide at the Muggle sights and sounds before being dragged through to Platform 9 3/4. He missed his older brother, but his bigger fear was to come the next year, when Ignatius left for that same train. He still had three more years until his own letter would come, and until then he felt as if his house was too big, though his mother tried her best to give him as much attention as she could, it just wasn't the same as having playmates closer to his own age. This did, however, give him more time and leeway with his studies, which he took full advantage of. When his letter came on his 11th birthday, Arthur was thrilled and more than ready to take on everything he needed to learn to become a wizard. Like his brothers before him, he was sorted into Gryffindor, where he met his new roommates, as well as the girls in his year. His brothers did their best to look out for him and to help him make the 'right' sort of friends, but Arthur didn't much care for labels. If a person was good, he liked them. If they were halfblood or Muggle-born, all the better! Maybe he could pick their brains later... He's made alright grades, though he is always the kid in the classroom with his hand in the air- especially when it comes to Muggle Studies. He fell in love from the first class, and when he sat the OWL he was the first student to finish, and one of the few to earn a perfect O. He never made a secret out of his adoration of the course, which did not endear him much to the purists at Hogwarts, despite his insistence that there was a lot to learn from Muggles. He grew up knowing he wanted to work at the Ministry like his father, but now he had a clear focus- he wanted to work in Law Enforcement, under the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office. That way he could keep learning about Muggles, but also work toward better Muggle/Wizard relations. Now he just has to sit his NEWTs and pray these pranks don't kill him! | ARTHUR curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back FULL NAME: Arthur William Weasley NICKNAMES: Weasley, Arthur CURRENT AGE: 17 DATE OF BIRTH: Feb 6, 1960 PLACE OF BIRTH: Devon, England RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Single SEXUALITY: Heterosexual HOGWARTS YEAR & HOUSE: 7th, Gryffindor PARENTS: Septimus Weasley (Department of Magical Transportation), Cedrella Black Weasley (housewife) SIBLINGS: Billius Weasley (Thestral breeder), Ignatius Weasley (Wizengamot assistant) FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS: Arthur gets along well with his brothers.
