Okay, no, really. Yes Adobe is lazy about innovation, but at the end of the day, they make the products that are a general language for developers. They aren't there to please the crowd or make products that don't have a usefulness yet (seriously. Some days I just stare at my iPad in abject confusion).
Does the world need something better than Adobe's current incarnation of Flash? Probably. Do we have anything better that has the same wide usability? Not yet. And so it's a little irresponsible of him to shut the door. Now, Apple's never been famous for their wide reaching accessibility to the masses (even though they claim it in their ads). They're not out to wow or lure in everybody. But this directly affects their core constituency of enlightened hipster supernerds.
Now why the supernerds didn't see this coming before is beyond me.
But! It doesn't matter because I have Frankencomputer and Frankencomputer will survive the apocalypse.
