Age/Date of Birth: 21 (or 12, however you wanna look at it ) / September 7, 2980 A.D. Place of Birth: Central City, Missouri Current Residence: Metropolis, Delaware Occupation: Assembly line worker at LexCorp factory facility in Metropolis
Physicals PB: Caleb Landry Jones Appearance:Bart Allen
Abilities Strengths:Superhuman Speed, Access to the Speed Force. Due to Bart's access to the Speed Force, he is granted several other powers that come from his interaction with the Speed Force such as accelerated healing, decelerated aging, energy construct creation, increased perceptions, infinite mass punch, phasing, self-sustenance, sharing the force, Speed Force aura (pants made of Goes Fast), supercharged brain activity, superhuman endurance, super speed speaking, vortex creation and the ability to steal speed from other speedsters. Unlike other speedsters, Bart can also read at super speed and still retain the information. Upon entry into NA, Bart will be without his super speed, having taken it all in himself to return back to this time/dimension after a particularly hairy adventure with Wally and Barry. The Speed Force does not currently exist, as it was absorbed by Bart and then used up completely to bring him back—but this will regenerate in time, unbeknownst to Bart or other Speedsters. Bart also has an eidetic memory and he is fluent in both English and Interlac.
Weaknesses Bart is extremely impulsive, and has previously been called “ADHD”. Some of his impulsiveness has mellowed as he’s grown, like any young man, but he is still more impulsive than other peers his age. He also has a very hard time knowing when to shut up, and is socially awkward; particularly around girls. His social confidence has grown some, but girls are still pretty foreign. Bart tends not to assert himself in group situations, he would rather stand back and crack wise until everyone gets along again, which usually gets him in trouble more often than not. Although he prefers to let others make the important, responsible, adult-like decisions, Bart truly does have strong convictions and- if pushed by persons or circumstances- will stand up for what he thinks is right, even if it's not the popular choice. Whenever he gets in a sticky, Bart always thinks about his Grampa Barry and acts how he thinks Barry would have acted in the same position.
Personality Bart is adventurous and mischievous as well as impulsive. He likes jokes (even bad ones) and can't ever stop himself from sharing them. However, Bart is extremely dedicated and idolizes his Grandpa Barry, hoping to one day grow up and be the Flash, just like him. Since his jaunt across dimensions brought him back three years older than he should be, Bart is still trying to reconcile the sudden jump in age and responsibility. Due to the loss of his speed, Bart is also experiencing bouts of self-doubt and depression, as he feels like he is no longer an Allen since he lost the one thing that made their family, the whole West-Allen Speedster family, special. He is trying to adapt to being a “normal” young man, and as such has spent the past few months avoiding his superheroic friends.
Background Bart is the son of Don Allen (Barry Allen's son) and Meloni Thawne (Professor Zoom's daughter). Bart has a half-brother, Owen Mercer (the off-spring of Meloni Thawne and Digger Harkness, Captain Boomerang) and a clone, Thaddeus Thawne (aka Inertia). Bart's father and his aunt (Dawn Allen) were killed by the Dominators, a group hired by Bart's maternal grandfather, World President Eobard Thawne, during Bart's early childhood. Thawne then kidnapped Bart and raised him in virtual reality.
Because he was born with his grandfather's super speed, Bart aged quickly. By the time he was 2 years old, he appeared to be 12, but due to the virtual reality system he grew up in, he aged as quickly mentally as he did physically. Bart was in danger of dying before he reached the biological age of ten. He was saved by his Grandmother Iris Allen who stole him back from Earthgov and President Thawne, then took him back in time to meet the second Flash, Wally West, who taught him how to control his speed and metabolism.
Due to his impulsive nature (commented upon by both Wally West and Batman, whom Bart also idolizes), Bart adopted the alias of Impulse and began to fight crime. He eventually took on the mantle of Kid Flash, a title once held by Wally West.
A situation arose within the Flash family that required all hands on deck- including the not-quite-dead yet relatives Barry Allen and Max Mercury, as well as Wally West, Bart Allen and Jay Garrick. Jay, not being as young or fast as the others, left the fight early, but the other four disappeared into the Speed Force for an indeterminate amount of time. Arriving in a strange alternate reality, not unlike Heaven, Wally, Max and Barry gave Bart their speed to send him back home, back to a few minutes after they left. Reluctantly, Bart agreed, and absorbed their speed into his body—however this combined with his running back through time and dimensions caused a great strain on both Bart and the Speed Force itself, and he did not come back a few minutes after he left as everyone expected, but several years later, even after having aged more rapidly while he was in the Speed Force.
When Bart did reappear, the Speed Force was completely gone, and his and every other Speedster’s connection to it was severed. Bart assumes that he has “used up” the Speed Force, and left Barry, Wally and Max stranded in an alternate dimension.
Without his speed, Bart is an average, well-read twenty-one year old; but he has lost his direction. He can no longer dream and work towards one day becoming the Flash, or even of seeing his own time again. Though he was offered the opportunity to stay with Jay and Joan again, as he’d done when he was a teenager, Bart struck out on his own, and made his way to Metropolis, hoping for a fresh start.
Here, Bart met his new friend and now roommate Griffin Grey, who also set him up with a job working with him on an assembly line at LexCorp. Although Bart knows that his former friend, Kon-El, runs the company in the wake of Lex Luthor’s disappearance, he hasn’t sought him or any of his other former Titans friends out, for fear that without his speed, they will see him as lesser. Other Did you read the rules? yap What's the character limit? 7, 8 w/villain What would you like to do with the character? First things first will be Bart reconnecting with his Titans pals and revealing that he doesn’t have superspeed. Bart will need to discover who he is without his speed. His speed will start to return in bursts, which I’d like to have investigated by LexCorp. Eventually the Speed Force will return in full, but carrying it all has left its mark on Bart and made him not just the fastest man alive, but the fastest man who was ever alive. I plan for Bart to become the Flash, following this, and apply to attend the police academy in Metropolis. How do you think the character can be integrated with the other universe? Bart already has canon and in-game history with many of the Titans. Also those superteams look like they could us a speedster :D
Writing Sample Bart kept his head down as much as possible. The foreman was having none of Bart and Griff’s nonsense today—Bart suspected he’d gotten jumped on by a superior, because poop always ran down hill and if someone was pissed at the top, it was sure to be the assembly-line grunts who took the brunt of it. Reaching for the next piece to twist into place, Bart nodded his head, mouthing along to the song.
“Birth control, Ho Chi Minh, Richard Nixon back again Moonshot, Woostock, Watergate, punk rock.”
“Allen. Allen,” Griff whispered aggressively, leaning over towards Bart with one hand out, looking to share the earbuds of his friend’s iPod, though he kept an eye on the foreman. Grinning a little, Bart slipped the right earbud over to his friend, and both nodded along with the song.
“Ayatollah’s in Iran, Russians in Afghanistan,”
Bart looked down at the part he assembled, trying to will himself to move more quickly, but he could tell from the way time kept speeding along that there was no change. This was what he did now. His friends ran—or helped run—their own companies, handed down from father figures. They were continuing the legacies they’d been brought into as Superboy and Red Robin.
But there wasn’t any Flash legacy. Not anymore. It spanned a thousand years, and came all the way back here to end with him; a guy who worked in a factory and had a titanium knee that ached when it got cold.
”Wheel of Fortune, Sally Ride, heavy metal suicide Foreign debts, homeless vets, AIDS, crack, Bernie Goetz,”
He didn’t have Super Speed. He wasn’t an Allen anymore, not in any way that mattered. Which was alright too because in this time, there weren’t any other Allens to disappoint either. He couldn’t even power the cosmic treadmill anymore; so he wouldn’t ever even have to see Jenni’s disappointment either. Jay and Joan were sweet, they were great, but Jay was it. He was the only Flash now. He was the fastest man alive; which he hadn’t been since Barry’s accident so many years ago.
But there wasn’t anything Bart could do to help anymore. If the Flash was going to save anyone, or stop bad things, or be a hero, it was all up to Jay now, no matter how much Bart wanted to help.
“Hypodermics on the shore, China’s under martial law Rock and roller cola wars, I can’t take it anymore.”
This time when the chorus hit, Bart mumbled along, as quietly as he could to keep the foreman from hearing. Griff, elbowed him to shut up, but smirked and whispered along,
“We didn’t start the fire, But when we are gone, It will still burn on and on and on and on…”
