5. Species: Human
6. Sexuality: Edwardsexual. Ha. Kidding, (sort of) Heterosexual.
7. Fandom: Twilight (book canon)
8. PB: Kristen Stewart
9. What time in canon is your character from? A week after her arrival in forks
10. Complete Character Description: On paper, Bella is nothing extraordinary. Standing at an unassuming 5'4", and weighting in at only 110lbs, she is just like every other girl in high school. Brown hair, brown eyes, pale skin--all of it characteristic of millions of other girls across the great states--and yet Bella somehow appears more than your average 17 year old. Her pale skin and slight build give her a delicate look, and her expressive dark brown eyes and full, pink lips liken her to a porcelain doll. Her hair is full and long, usually kept down for her to hide behind if the moment calls for it. She is slender despite a lack of physical activity, and she carries herself with such a lack of grace that people can't help but feel protective of her.

Bella's personal style is one of comfort rather than fashion. She lived in cool shorts and light colored breezy tank tops when she was home in Arizona, but in Forks, it is nothing but second hand jeans and long sleeve shirts. Her idea of dressing up is a floor-length, khaki skirt and a deep blue v-neck that manages to compliment her coloring despite the odds. Neither of her parents are well off, and so the things she owns are generally "new to her", but she cares for them well, and manages to always look clean and neat. She would never describe herself as particularly pretty--there's no reason for it really--but the men of forks seem to think just the opposite and it's a bit tedious for her at times.

11. Personality: Bella Swan is the classic old soul. She doesn't fit in well with her peers, and she tries desperately to fade into the background if/when she's dragged into the spotlight. She's practical and pragmatic, and more resourceful than other kids her age. This is all a result of being the primary care taker on the Renee/Bella dynamic despite the fact that Renee is technically the parent. Still, life isn't made up of what's "supposed" to be, it's what is, and so Bella took on the role of the responsible adult of her family readily, and has worn the title well ever since. She's a caretaker by nature, and so things just seemed simpler that way.

Despite being the "adult" in her family for so many years, Bella is still a teen-aged girl in many ways. She is rational, with a sense of control that most would envy, and yet it will all fall apart if you push the right buttons. Even she is not immune to the most handsome boy in school, and she can be just as flustered and flabbergasted as the next teen-aged girl when that happens. She is a closet romantic despite her parents break-up, though her take on love and romance is darker than others. She prefers novels like Wuthering Heights, and the works of Jane Austen--novels where even the happy endings are never quite happy, but the idea of love and passion are undeniable. It is the only impractical indulgence she allows in her life. She knows that what is on the page is fiction, and doesn't bother seeking it outside the loosely bound books that she carries with her even now to forks like the security blanket that they are.

Though Bella does not carry any sense of romantic passion in her life, it does not mean she lacks it. She simply shows it in other ways. For instance, once Bella makes up her mind, it is done and there's no turning back. This is good and bad, like anything, but it also means the time before the decision is made is agonizing. With her mind locked in and stubbornly refusing to budge, Bella can miss little things at times because she's too focused on an issue to budge. This is ironic because when she's looking Bella is very observant, with a keen eye for detail.

What Bella lacks in people skills, or popular expertise, she makes up for in sincerity. She is a genuine person through and through, incapable of lying, even to herself. She is a loyal friend, even when that friendship proves bad for her, or the other person doesn't deserve her loyalty. It is simply who she is, and at the end of the day, she's happy with herself, failings, oddities and all. She might complain about herself, or doubt herself, but she wouldn't change herself at the end of the day and that's all that matters.

12. Background: The result of the short union of Renee and Charlie Swan, Renee always said that Bella was born thirty-five years old and got more middle-aged every year. She was their child and the pair split up little more than a year after she was born. Renee simply couldn't take life in rainy Forks, and escaped the oppression of life in a small town by running away to sunny California. Bella was four when they moved one last time before settling down in Phoenix, Arizona.

Renee was an eccentric mother, flighty to a fault, and always one to indulge in whims. As such, Bella had an interesting childhood to say the least. The cripplingly clumsy girl was forced into ballet, pottery lessons, and for one terrifying week, soccer. Still, Bella took it with a grain of salt, and learned to adapt to the parental role in their relationship. She loved her mother's vibrant personality and the pair formed a tight knit team of two, which often left Bella floundering for the one summer month she was forced to spend with her father. It wasn't that she didn't like Charlie, he was nice enough, and he was her father after all, but he wasn't her mother, and the densely forested Forks wasn't home.

Growing up with Renee was always entertaining, but was rarely ever easy. Her mother's flighty tendencies and lack of financial know-how often left the pair scrapping by when money was concerned, and Bella never had the luxuries her peers often took for granted. Still, she was never bitter or resentful about this and instead learned to enjoy what she had in life. She was happy, doing well in school, and while she didn't have many friends to speak of, she never minded--she had her mother and that was all she wanted.

When Renee brought Phil Dwyer home to meet her daughter, Bella thought nothing of it. She'd seen men come and go from her mother's life and she didn't think he would be any different. He was a little young for her, but nice enough, and while she didn't wish him any ill will, she simply didn't think he'd last--Renee was the settle down and commit type. Imagine her surprise when four short months later the pair were engaged and then married not even a year into their relationship. In the end, Bella couldn't begrudge her mother her happiness and so she made room in her life for Phil to join their family. It became apparent with baseball season though, that some room wouldn't be enough. Phil was constantly away training, playing away games with his minor league team or negotiating a contract with a Florida State team. Renee stayed home with her daughter, of course, but Bella saw the toll it took on her. She really did love Phil, and so Bella, ever the adult, did what she knew she needed to do. She contacted her father and informed him that she wanted to spend some quality time with him before she finished high school and made her way to graduation. She waited until after the holiday season and then said goodbye to everything she knew and loved.

Forks has proven itself to be different than she first anticipated, but not entirely unlike what she thought it would be. The weather was cold, damp and depressing. Her relationship with Charlie was quiet and a little awkward and she found herself surrounded by people who knew who she was despite the fact that she never spent more than a month a year there throughout her life. Still, the kids at school have been surprisingly warm and welcoming, with one exception, and even then, the too handsome boy with the copper hair and the mysterious black eyes hasn't been seen around school in a week, and life is starting to set into the routine once again.

13. Weaknesses: Gravity. Her parents. Edward Cullen.
14. Strengths: A calm rationale beyond her years. A mental shield against invasive powers (you cannot read her mind-also, she does not know about this one). A good cook. Very observant when she wants to be (she has a good eye for details).
15. Likes: The sun. Debussey. Classic literature. Arizona. Her truck. Her mom. Time to herself. Cooking (to a point). Reading in general.
16. Dislikes: The smell of blood. Rain. The cold. Clouds. When people don't get sarcasm. Sports. Anything requiring coordination. Standing out in a crowd. Beaches that aren't sandy.
17. Talents and Hobbies: She has a talent for falling over her own feet--that has to count. Hobbies include reading, taking care of her parents, and finding herself stuck in precarious situations.
18. Family and Friends: [info]edwcull Edward Cullen isn't exactly a friend. The pair were biology partners for one hour before the boy stormed off, only to be caught requesting a transfer out of her class. She's not entirely sure what his problem is, but she worries it's due to some irrational instant hatred. Either that or maybe she just smells bad.
19. Character's Room #: Dorm E room 239.
20. Outside link to character information (i.e. Wikipedia, Fan Site, etc.): Wikipedia
21. Wanted Characters, or characters you would like to see in the game: I would love a Jacob Black, but I think if all the holds apply we'll be at the Twilight limit.
