Attention Wizarding World:

I would like to take a moment to wish my beautiful, fearless, intelligent, awe inspiring wife, a very Happy Birthday.

Seeing how it is the first birthday we are celebrating as husband and wife, I intend to make it one she will always remember.

Nora, you're my world, my galaxy, my universe. Happy Birthday, darling.

I received an owl this morning from the Ministry:

Dear Mister Sinistra,

After evaluating your case, we estimate your return to work date to be August 1st, 1986. This date has been chosen based on the progress you have made since the incident which occurred on August 23rd, 1985 at approximately 6:45 in the morning.

If you have any questions, please contact your place of employment.

August 1st 1986. That's another 7 months.

7 MONTHS. It's been almost 5 and I've already begun to climb the walls.

You never appreciate the holidays as an adult the way you did as a kid. Don't get me wrong, I love Christmas, but the look on Callisto's face whenever she looks at the tree is priceless. She calls the lights 'stars', which makes sense since I'm pretty sure my mother artistically placed them to make constellations. I predict she'll be a Ravenclaw - I'm pretty sure she already knows it's our father in the Santa suit. She even told me that he placed Nora's gift under the wrong tree, since it should be at her house.

Like I said, the kid is smart.

It took a bit of sweet talking, but I was able to convince my nurse to get my journal from my bag. There were some doubts as to whether or not I'd be 'up to it', but I assured her that holding a quill wasn't as exerting as she made it out to be.

I should be out of here in another week or so. After that, I'll have to get home care until I can walk again, but the point is I'm getting my strength back. The pain comes and goes, but if my spinal injuries had been just a half an inch lower, I'd be in this chair for the rest of my life. Scary fucking thought, but I know how lucky I got.

Enough about me. What have I missed?
