APPEARANCE
Calix is a tall individual standing at 6 foot 5 inches tall. He is also very lanky and slim. He has the kind of build where old ladies try to push second and third helpings of meals on him, convinced the young man doesn't get enough to eat. His eyes are green but not the beautiful stunning green that his mother has in his opinion. They're more of a muddy green, almost hazel color. His dark bown hair falls in loose curls around his shoulders which is usually tied up in some fashion when he's working with animals. He knows he should probably get it cut but it always tends to slip his mind.
His fae form is unknown to him but it still lurks beneath the hexed glamour his mother had placed on him as an infant. This form is much darker and is a stark contrast to the kind looking man on the surface. His body is inky black in color with long limbs that look thin and brittle like the twigs of dead leaves. His face is a strange combination of animals with his face being the skull of a wolf with antlers like a deer protruding from the forehead of the skull. His hair isn't hair but feathers like those of a dove. that fall down around his shoulders
PERSONALITY
Calix is a soft-spoken and somewhat shy individual. Most of the time he's more comfortable with the animals that he cares for rather than the people around him. He tends to feel awkward and anxious around groups and struggles with feeling like he's an annoyance when he tried to contribute to the conversations going around him. He suffers from anxiety and is prone to panic attacks at what other people would consider something small.
He has a very large heart and is always prepared to help someone if they need it. He has offered to let people crash on his couch multiple times and even when he's woken up with most of his electronics stolen, it still hasn't deterred him. He tries to see the good in people even if it does occasionally bite him in the ass.
Calix never should have been born. The product of an unseelie mother and a seelie father the infant was an abomination in the eyes of their people. The fact that his father was secretly the Seelie King didn't help matters either. Knowing how the king treated his illegitimate offspring and not wanting that for the child in her belly, Calix's mother went into hiding to keep the father from ever finding out.
When the young fae was finally born, it was easy to see that the babe was born of both sides. A spawn of a Seelie and Unseelie fae could not be allowed to live. This was something both clans agreed on. Still this was her child that she had carried and bore. She loved him too much in his short life to let him be killed just for who his parents were. So his mother made a deal with one of her kin that had been cast out of the court. Hexes and spells were placed on the infant to keep his glamour active constantly and suppress his fae powers as much as possible to keep him undetected by the other fae that may come across him. After all was said and done, his mother snuck out of the fae realm and into the world of mortals. Once there it was easy enough to place the babe in the crib of an unsuspecting family, replacing the human infant already taking up residence in the home. The human couple never knew the difference.
The humans were Cathal and Saoirse Donovan and they had tried for years before finally being blessed with Calix (now who they believed was Calix). They doted on the small child whenever they could. The child frequently toddled behind his father, wanting to help with the various animals on their little farm before the family would go and start the day at their little cafe. They weren't rich by any means if one measured in monetary value. But in love, they were overflowing.
