Character Information
Name: Markus Ayden Glowaski
Age: Several hundred, at least. Apparent age is his mid-twenties.

Alignment: Good/ However that wasn’t always the case.
Brief History: Very little is known about Markus before his arrival at Reesyn New Mexico; mostly because he worked very hard to keep his history a secret, and nobody ever really inquired very deeply. Markus Glowaski however is not the man’s only name, however it is in fact his given name. And choosing to retake it when he went in search of redemption for all the evil acts he had committed, it is the only name he associates himself with any more. To whisper his demon name, and not call him by his human name, would cause a wrath so great it would swallow all in his path.

The reason for wishing redemption for his soul was because of a woman, even though that part of the story has been forgotten by all except the man himself. He attempted making amends in Europe, but found it hard and was always returned to old habits. Old associates also found it easy to find him, and continually wanted things from him. However on a rain afternoon one day, a man of equal supernatural distinction came across Markus, knew of him and parts of his story. The man, who was in fact an even older Demon than Markus, told him of this little town nestled in New Mexico.

Where it would be just right for starting over; was several reasons why it would be perfect for his needs, but mostly because it was a place where the town natives happened to be open and understanding of supernatural creatures. It was a safe place, wouldn’t be hunted or persecuted by others for being none human. Not that Markus had a problem with hunters, but he was told that was a way of keeping harmful and malevolent causing creatures a way. Was rumor of a Voodoo Priestess was in some manner responsible for keeping the evils away, but it would give him a chance to start over without being sought out and forced into continuing in ways that he wished not be involved in any longer.

So with a bit of thought, he got on a plane and headed for New Mexico. He wasn’t even sure of the town name, just a general idea of its location. It was a small place, and after a bit of looking around the state he found the town. He was stricken dead on sight, so he wasn’t sure if the rumor of the Voodoo Priestess was true, and if that wasn’t then what about the whole town even being a safe haven? But after a few days he realized the large amount of supernaturals and the peaceful environment. Not long after that he settled into an apartment and was looking for a job. If nothing else to blend in, was true he had money stored away from his very prosperous live before but he didn’t want to seem to out of place.

Music was always something that Markus had loved; it was what had found him the woman that he’d fallen in love with. The one whom had him on this path of righteousness… hmm that was maybe a bit much, but the path of redemption, none the less. And oddly enough the Local music shop in the town was looking to hire. And being a man, that in a way believed in fate and higher power he took it as a sign. And thus he applied, not long after he was hired on full time as stock, and assistant cashier.

That was where he noticed a young blond woman, who frequented the store. It wasn’t particular of him to really take all that much notice. It was an attraction not as anyone would have thought, but instead it was to her scent. Markus didn’t have enhanced senses of smell, except when it came to one thing, fire. And the young woman was bathed in the scent of sulfur and ash. It caught his attention just enough for him to want to learn more and get to know the young woman, her name was Elizabeth Marie Collins. It took not very long at all for him to realize she was a witch with the base inherit magic of fire. After that it was just a bit time before he found himself becoming her friend, which was slightly odd as he hadn’t really had any friends in a very long time.

Although he was meeting others in town, getting to know people more or less, an occasional acquaintance here and there. But he wasn’t opening up, but he also wasn’t returning to old habits. This was very good of him, an was almost a surprise that he was able to keep himself under control as he had a nasty temper which often lead to him fallen down that dark path of destruction. He found himself just taking in life, enjoy things around him. Little simple things he’d forgotten all about, like his music.

Although he did come to realized that what was keeping him calm, was his enjoying of Liz’s company. Was something about the young woman, something alluring and intriguing? And because of that, he felt comfortable and opened himself up. Instead of being this quite reserved, slightly angst looking fellow. She had a way about her that was silly and playful, and somehow she was able to find that within him. At the least he had become friends with her. She knew nothing of his other life, or that she was in many ways that she was saving him. But he found the woman was what was keeping him under control.






Personality: Markus hasn’t always been the same, he has taken large circles in his life, and within his personality. And currently his strongest trait would have to be, his loyalty. He is a very loyal creature to those he finds that he cares about, and are his friends. His only true closest friends are Kali and Liz, which would seem odd, that his band mates or even Jason aren’t. But it’s Likely because he had gotten to know the girls the best, and let the two see closer into his true self than any others. Liz he became closest with during his time in Reesyn, when he became friends with her and joined Dark Water because of their shared desire for music. And Kali more recently after Liz took off leaving her friends, and in particular leaving Kali alone. He always adored the little brunette but he never really let her fully in, until Liz had gone. Although it should be said, Markus also fell in love with both young women. He still loves Liz, but is really only in-love with Kali. However he won’t say it out right.

His old band mates from Reesyn, and his hunting partner Jason are all very important to him too though. And he is very loyal, in the manner that if any of the guys needed anything no matter what it was, likely no chance of him turning it down. And really he wouldn’t be wanting any favors back for it.

List of Abilities/Powers:
Markus is a Fire Demon, meaning his magic is of that element. And he is considered an unholy creature. Not human. Being rather old, he has come into/discovered many abilities though time; he wasn’t able to wield everything over night. Below are abilities and weaknesses.

*Natural abilities: -Has the natural ability to produce fire, normal extends from the palms in rays. In the event that his hands or palms aren’t maneuverable, fire can be extended from any location upon his body with concentration.
-Fire immunity.
-When catching the gaze of an opponent, as the ability to strike fear into. Depending on the willpower of the individual, the gaze may be paralyzing for a variable amount of time, or until he has gone from sight. Generally those with strong faith in god, or other good nature-centered spirituality are more affected, while other demons, vampires and just rotten humans are less affected, and in some case, unaffected.
- Has immunity to other creatures’ fear abilities.
- An uncanny immune system and physically tougher, inability to catch human diseases. He is also able to heal quickly, more rapidly than humans but not instantly. Can be affected by magical diseases though, but not killed. His lifespan is far greater than a human’s. And he is already several hundred years old.
- Naturally very warm to the touch, and when in a heightened emotional state radiates large amounts of heat sometimes unbearable and defiantly noticeably unnaturally.
- Strong willed, is difficult to use mind controlling abilities on whether magical or natural to another sort of creature/gifted human. But isn’t impossible with the right amount of power and skill.
-Can mate with any creature, but can only pass down full Demon abilities when the mother is a Fire Demon. Half Demon offspring would gain some ability, and Demon children of whom mother is off another element type would gain a variable mix between both parents, although one element being more dominant.
- Has the ability to sense other Demons’ Element types, and sense other supernatural creatures. And because of his age, he is able to determine what other supernaturals are, unless it’s something extremely odd that he has only encountered a few times, or none at all.
*Fire Senses: -Doesn’t have an enhanced smell or taste.
-However with the exception of with fire, or fire based creatures he is able to smell fire, smoke, ash and any other scents attached at an alarming distance.
-He is also able once within the area that a fire had once taken place able to, by breathing in deeply, taste the source of a fire whether it was natural or magic. As well as determine how long ago it was either extinguished, if it’s merely smoke and after scents, or able to determine how long ago the fire was started if it’s still burning.
- By starring into burning/dancing flames, he is able to see the person that set the fire given magical or natural. However this ability takes concentration, for him to in a way communicate and see within the fire.
*Fire absorption: - The ability to absorb fire in order to extinguish, magical and natural.
- absorbing natural fire to heal himself instantly.
- In the event of any magical fire being absorbed, the magic would bother his system similar to a drug.
-Able to hear a fire, that is hidden behind a wall or other solid objects. Even in the event of small fires which wouldn’t even normally be detected by feeling for heat.
*Sun exposure: -Being within bright sunlight he heals at a quickened pace, a faster rate than normal although not instant healing as with his fire absorption. It’s the natural heat from sun jumpstarting his healing abilities.
*Water exposure: -When dredged in water, it negates any of his natural fire abilities; although he can still absorb fire. He merely can’t produce any internally/naturally, or use of any fire senses.
-Absorbing fire while dredged, gives the after effect of all water being evaporated from his body. But he can not heal at that time from it, because of the water negating that ability.
-When held under water for extended amounts of time, it begins to damage and sicken him physically.
-He can not die from drowning, but any damage taken from water can not be supernaturally healed and must take physical time to recover from.
*Cold exposure: -Being subject to long exposures to cold weather, particularly in snow storms and sub-zero temperatures has a way of dulling his natural abilities and supernatural powers.
-Being submerged into snow or ice will not kill him, but his body will slow its metabolism down along with all body functions, and his mind will slip into a coma. Until his body is removed, and thaws out to an 84 degrees at which time he will slowly regain consciousness, but it will take further variable amount of time for his natural abilities, and supernatural powers to return.
*What would kill him: - Server heart trauma, decapitation, and entrapment in strong magical ice.
-Killing his body would only release his spirit, not destroy it.
-Has a soul, and is able to love however he has been severely tainted by all the evil acts he has committed. But his soul belongs to him, and isn’t controlled by a higher evil. He has been on the road of redemption for his evil acts in hope of when he dies of his soul not being drawn back into hell, that perhaps given god’s mercy he might accept him and allow him to move to something greater than damnation for all eternity. He has turned his back on any greater evil, which might have also drawn attention from those not wishing for him to be released from service.
*Holy ground: -Is weary of churches, but because of age and the act of redemption to gain the forgiveness for his evil acts within his past, he may enter holy places. Although still has a natural aversion to it.
- Holy water burns his skin, and crosses, but ONLY if held by an individual with strong faith in a good god.
- Those with strong faith, and particularly men(or women) of God are able to sense something nasty lingering about him, or simply something not being right with him. Though priests, clerics, ministers, monks(ECT.) must truly be strong in faith in order to sense anything, the mere title isn’t enough. An angel, or celestial creature will know instantly that he is a demon, but not of what element type. In return he is able to sense Angels, and other celestial beings.
