Trevor Mitchell
If you asked her to describe him, you'd probably get something along the lines of 'demon in khakis', 'arrogant jackass', 'debonair cretin', 'the Gaston to my Belle if you like Disney', or something else like that.
Ever since they were five, they've been at odds with each other.
But at this point, Trevor and Raven themselves don't even know if they're actually enemies, anymore.
The pair bicker and argue constantly, but the brunt of it is quick-witted banter and most people that have seen Trevor and Raven in one of their 'bits' would agree that they need to shut up and kiss, already. While they might have a few biting comments to make at each other, most of it seems to be out of boredom and never too much on the "harsh" side. It's almost a competition to see who can make the best comebacks or get the biggest rise out of the other, except this competition of theirs never seems to end.
Raven still finds Trevor annoyingly arrogant and doesn't approve of his womanizing ways, especially since she knows Trevor really only has eyes for her. She just doesn't trust him.
Even so, Raven cannot deny her world would come crashing down if something bad ever happened to the boy she calls a "demon in khakis". Raven is always saying she hates him, but she knows it's not actually true. And to be fair, people do always say the line between hate and love is a thin one.
The main reason Trevor likes her so much is that she doesn't make a fool of herself trying to get with him. She's only ever been herself with him - and that's what makes her so irresistible.
The only problem is, he regularly makes a fool out of himself. For a guy that wants to be with her so badly, he has an awful way of showing it.
Trevor's treatment of Raven, for a long time, entirely depended on whether he was in the presence of his circle of friends. He becomes almost a different person when they're by themselves, another reason she doesn't trust him. She doesn't really know which side is the real Trevor, anymore, though she knows his 'dual personalities' are just different sides of the same, rusty coin.
One moment, he's calling her a freak and getting his friends to make stupid and not-so-original jokes about her clothes. The next, as soon as he manages to see they're truly alone, he's stealing kisses from her (at the risk of getting punched or smacked), and whispering flirtatious things in her ear.
The kissing is annoying but doesn't annoy Raven nearly as much as the gifts. Trevor will take any and all chances he can to find things that are "quintessentially Raven" - things he knows for a few fleeting moments, she'll be gawking over the beauty and aesthetic of. These things are often rather extravagant-looking, and since Trevor does come from a wealthy family, they are often rather expensive. He's not shy about throwing his money away on his 'dream girl'.
And though Raven might never wear these things, she's never gotten rid of them. Sure, she could throw these 'unwelcome gifts' in the garbage, but she's not that heartless. She'll never admit it, but she finds it infuriatingly endearing.
After they finally graduate from High School, Trevor is separated from Raven as he goes off to an Ivy League school on some fancy soccer scholarship.
Raven and Trevor both have each other's phone numbers, but Raven didn't really keep in touch with him in this way - the only way she really knows how to talk to him is in banter. It's become something like a second language to them and Trevor knows Raven well enough to know when she's not her usual self. With their conversations in person, everything is heated and the words are snappier. Texting takes time, and people somehow become more filtered. There's more time to plot what you're going to say, and with that time comes ulterior motives. She doesn't like not being able to read his facial expressions, so his texts are often ignored if he ever does send them.
She knows she and Trevor aren't likely to ever forget about each other - Lord knows she's not forgotten about him. Sometimes she even catches herself missing him but has to remind herself of how he treated her and it's not normal to miss somebody that deliberately disrespected you on a regular basis.
Whether Trevor ever "grew up" out of his bullying phase, she doesn't know. Perhaps she'll find out, someday, and maybe they can work towards being actual friends with each other, and not just 'weirdly flirtatious frenemies'.
