She skidded to a halt, heart pounding. He'd managed to catch her off-guard again. It was something she definitely didn't like. Staring after him a moment, Elena made a split second decision. She turned to run. It wasn't that far from her home and, being a small town, there were multiple ways to get back. She'd just...cut her run short.
