She glared at Klaus' answer. But as Elijah spoke, she couldn't help the sadness in her gaze. "Because of Klaus," she answered. "If you'd killed him as agreed... I know why you didn't. I understand that you wanted your family back, but... Your mother said there was only one way to rid the world of him."

Her head ducked. "You had to be linked." And they could guess why Finn had been the one, more than likely. Looking up, her gaze showed real regret. "I didn't want to do that to you, Elijah," she advised, tears overflowing. She had actually liked him.
