"Because it is." That wasn't going to be a good enough answer, Elena knew that as soon as the words left her lips. She looked up at him, eyes wide.
"I said 'Don't' not because I didn't return those feelings...but because I knew hearing them..." It would make her question things all the more. She sighed again.
