Draco
Oh, you've made it quite clear. If I don't bend to your will and leave my husband, than I can't be trusted.
He joined the Death Eaters willingly when he was young, yes. We were all quite swept away in his words. Your father, your uncle, your aunt, myself... we thought that they were going to fix the failings of the wizarding world. When they didn't... well, it was through hardwork of your father that we were provided the life we were, if he'd been found out, Draco, we would be having a very different conversation.
When the Dark Lord came back, no one wanted that, not I nor your father. But what choice did we have? He wasn't being particularly forgiving of former Death Eaters. He... he punished your father quite a bit, and every time your father tried to win favor so that we might be able to get out of our situation, something happened. Thats when in a particularly cruel moment, he tried to use you in a pawn to hurt your father.
We should have taken you and fled, but we thought he would find us and kill us. We lived in fear. I know that is no excuse, I know that we should have done more, and that we've failed you as parents, but that doesn't mean we love you any less. You can't possibly ask your father to shoulder the blame alone.
