The pictures everyone has been showing of where they come from and of their families are really interesting. I'll admit it, I'm really nosy. Also, I think it's a nice way to spend a few minutes.

In any case, never let it be said that I'm too proud to jump on a bandwagon. I've included pictures of my family, and of our home in Canada as well as Paris.

This is my mother, Annabelle. She is French, which is why my brother and I got acceptance letters from Beauxbâtons in the first place. She is a Squib but she works in the Ministry of Magic here in France in their Muggle Relations department.

This is my father, Anthony. He is Quebecois and used to work in the International Relations department of the Canadian Ministry in Ottawa, before we moved to Paris for his job, where we still live.

This is my brother, Jean-Claude. He is one year older than me and has now left school. He is now going to a Muggle university because one day he wants to join my mother in working with Muggles.

This is Thetford Mines, the town in Quebec where we come from. This is the place in summer where it is rather warm. I don't think you can see our house in this picture, but it looks very much like those you can see.

This is Thetford in winter, which in fairness, is most of the year round. I think last year it was below freezing from the end of October until the end of March. My grandmother says it didn't come above zero once in that time.

And now, Paris. This is the Rue de Rivoli, where my parents have an apartment. It is one of the main shopping streets in the city and as you can see, it is very busy. It is mostly Muggles who shop there, but you also see plenty of wizards.

Finally, this is our French home. Our apartment is on the top floor, in the building on the left. It occupies the corner of the building that you can see in the picture, and looks down the street in the direction of Les Jardins Tuilieries.

Unfortunately overlooked much of the time. At least comparatively with our southern neighbours.

SADLY, I get called a damn yankee every five seconds. HELLO, I'm CANADIAN. Damn southern neighbors. Hey Frenchie, hit me up if you need anything. You're super chill.

Do you like being called French?

I would consider it a minor irritant rather than active dislike. La Francophonie is a significant part of Quebecois culture, after all.

Well, I hate being lumped in with the americans. The good part of America are my teammates. Like Sol. OTHERWISE, no. I'd sooner be French.

What I mean is: You said you'd rather be French than American. I said it's not so bad. You said you can't speak the language. I said if you actually were French, you would know the language. Thus, being French would not be a problem to you.

And oh, Paris! Your pictures make me miss it so much!

Nous devrions prendre un café dans Les Jardins Tuileries, cet été, oui?

I suppose it depends on my mood, really. Thetford is much less glamorous, but that's because it's a fairly laid-back rural town with a different pace of life. Paris is much busier.
