family history & relationships. |
Parents: Gabrielle Mallorie Creevey nee Delacour and Dennis Edward Creevey Siblings: Adele Nanette Creevey and Colin Creevey Significant Extended Family: Aunt Fleur, and through her an Uncle Bill (and his family, in a way), and Stewart Ackerley. Several cousins through both relationships Describe your character's relationship with their father. Giselle was never going to be a daddy's girl. Adele had that place in his heart as far as she was concerned, and there was nothing she could do to win it from her older sister. As she grew older, she didn't even want it anymore. Now she's perfectly happy only seeing him at holidays (and wouldn't mind seeing less of him, honestly). Describe your character's relationship with their mother. Although butting heads with her mother sometimes felt as easy as breathing, thanks to their similarities, Giselle would do anything for her Maman and doesn't think she'll ever not want her around. Her mother is her favorite of her parents by a long shot. There are times when she gets a sharp pang for one of her maman's epic cuddles. Describe your character's relationships with each sibling. Sometimes Giselle will witness or read about close sisterly relationships and wonder how her own ended up so distant. They are friendly, but by no stretch of the imagination are they best friends the way some sisters seem to be. She'd actually had a brief hope that leaving would make them closer somehow but it just never happened. She's learning slowly to accept and be happy with what they do have instead of longing for more. Colin is the only reason Giselle ever regretted leaving home so early. The baby and the only boy, she loved him more than she'd anticipated she would. She's jealous that he gets to have a closer relationship with everyone (but her), but she also thinks he might be better for it, though she writes him more than she writes anyone else from home. If your character ever becomes a parent, what will they do the same as their parents? What will they do differently? As far as parenting, Giselle thinks she would like to follow in her mother's footsteps. But she doesn't ever want to follow her mother in a choice of husband/father. If her husband ever seemed to start to resemble Dennis in his mannerism toward her or potential children, she knows she'd leave him on the spot. Current Relationship Status: Single |
personality & philosophies. |
3 positive character traits - Adventurous From a young age, Giselle tackled new things head-on. Moving away to France instead of taking the Hogwarts route to be closer to family was scary, but it was also exhilarating. She's willing to try anything once and often leaps before fully looking. Her impulsively adventurous attitude has landed her occasionally in hot water, but it's given her so many more amazing stories than she would have had otherwise at her age. - Bright There are people who brighten a room by entering, and people who brighten it by leaving. Giselle is of the former camp, always liking to make an entrance or an impression that leaves people with a favorable idea of her (even if it's not necessarily true). She's the life of most parties and perfectly willing to chat with anyone, about anything, at any time. It's only with her friends that she talks about anything that's not superficially bright, bubbly, or happy. - Romantic Although she has been proven wrong on occasion, Giselle keeps her romantic personality. She idealizes past events of her life (such as glossing over the time her Vespa was stolen in Italy to focus instead on the amazing gelato she found on foot), and puts a lot of stock in the romance of an idea versus the reality (backpacking with a boyfriend sounded like a wonderful time, until it rained and her whole body ached and they fought more than not). But it also lends her passion for her work and for her lovers and friends, and she wouldn't give up that outlook on life for anything, which lets her persevere. It will all turn out in the end, or else it's not over! 3 negative character traits - Mood Swings Like a lot of artistic types, she's prone to inexplicable mood swings. She'll be at the top of the world one second, and unbearably sad the next. And anyone she cares for has learned which subjects to step lightly around lest she fall into a sudden rage. Just as soon as the mad moods start, she'll snap out of them, and prefers to pretend afterward nothing happened. Pushing her will result in another swing. - Lonely Despite her bubbly nature and adventurous spirit, or perhaps because of it, Giselle is often quite lonely. She has many acquaintances, but few very close friends. And her situation with living so far from her family means she feels like an outsider even amongst those who share her blood. She is often quite literally all alone in a crowded room, but you'd never know any of this to look at her. She pushes it to the side far more often than she should and rarely addresses it directly, burying the feeling in superficial friendliness. - Too Trusting Unless you're outright nasty with her, it's easy for Giselle to trust perfect strangers. She opens her apartments to strangers when she's not there (and sometimes when she is), she'll share cabs in strange cities with people she doesn't know, and she often will share parts of herself well before the normal timeframe. It's bitten her more times than she cares to admit, from stolen items to shattered hearts. Boggart: Sickness and Infirmity are her biggest fears (for herself or her family). The Boggart manifests as her maman frail and in a hospital bed most of the time, but it's varied on that theme. Mirror of Erised: Herself with a fully stamped passport and life satisfaction. What is your character's outlook on life? Life is short, so live it up, drink it down, laugh it off, take chances, and never have regrets, because at one point everything you did was exactly what you wanted |
significant life events. |
3 significant moments from birth to age 11 - Baby, Baby, Baby Colin's arrival was the beginning of the end, though Giselle was too young to realize it at the time. Later, when she was older, she began to see it in a new light, though she loved him no less for being born. It wasn't his fault that he was the long-awaited boy when she'd been born a girl. Second girl, so her parents already had all they needed in a daughter with Adele, and Colin completed the picture. - You Make Me Sick The furthest back that Giselle can actually remember is what she calls The Sickness. It felt at the time like she'd been sick forever, that she'd always be sick, and so would her siblings. There had been delusions from the fever and a feeling of the life drawing out of her that made her think this is what dying felt like, but more drawn out. It's the basis of her phobia of sickness, the idea that she might die in a long and drawn out way (though she hopes it's fast, like a train crash or some brain aneurism). - It's Gonna be Totally Awesome! (Not) It hadn't been her idea for the family to move to England, and the change was jarring. That combined with Dennis' reaction to Adele's choosing to go to Hogwarts led Giselle to leap for the gap that she might be able to fill. Maybe, just maybe, if she went to Beauxbatons, he would love her at least as equally as Adele. And if he didn't, she would be too far away to really be hurt by it (or so she thought). It was a lot of begging and promises, but she was finally allowed to go to school in France. 3 significant moments during school - On My Own Leaving her family behind didn't sink in fully until she found herself alone in the palace that first night. She'd felt so triumphant over getting her way that she hadn't thought about the reality of being away from her sister and cousins. She cried a bit that first night, but also found her closest friend in a roommate who was also missing her family. From then they were inseparable, that moment of loneliness bringing them together. - Boys (Sometimes a Girl Just Needs One) Sometimes even a dab of veela will do you, as Elle found out when her body blossomed over summer break. Suddenly she was the center of many potential beaus' attentions. Her books were carried for her, drinks were fetched in the dining hall, and kisses stolen in corridors. She made sure she never lead any of the boys on, but her fourth year was spent learning far more than just her lessons as she juggled dates and expectations and hearts. - Don't Stop Me Now At first, when she was younger, Giselle went home during the breaks. Her fourth year she spent Easter holiday at the school. Fifth year- Christmas and Easter. And then sixth year, she stopped coming home altogether. Starting fifth year, she'd spent each holiday away from her family doing odd jobs- waitressing in Paris, a shopgirl in Istanbul, etc. She used the money she'd saved to spend the summer between sixth and seventh year traveling around Europe, the travel bug firmly in her by this point. That summer was the best one she'd ever had and she never wanted it to end. 3 significant moments since coming of age - This Life's Our Greatest Project Immediately after graduating, she had no idea what she was meant to do with her life. Traveling was the only aspect of her life that really made her happy, but Elle didn't know what to do with that information. She'd only had odd jobs working across the continent, and she didn't want to bounce from job to job for the rest of her life. But she didn't want to be confined to one thing, either. It was a chance encounter with a magazine editor that changed everything. Maybe he'd been flirting, but when he'd told her that people would want to read about her unique experiences, to live vicariously through her, a lightbulb went off. - We Put Our Feet Just Where They Had To Go Getting an apartment, settling down, had never been on Giselle's radar. But while exploring the verdant avenues of Montmartre she stumbled upon a dispute between a landlord and tenant as the tenant was being evicted. The apartment was adorable and furnished and cheaper than she could have dreamed. It felt too much like fate for her to ignore it, and so she made it home base for her travels. - And a Lonely Ring Through it all, Giselle had never seriously settled on any boy. Frankly, she'd never even had a boyfriend by her definition of the word. Until there was Gaspard D'Arcy in July of 2028. Something about him was so different, and she was caught up in the romance of it all. It only took six weeks before he proposed and she gleefully accepted without a thought- it was Paris and moonlit, there was wine and the ring was gorgeous. But by the light of day, doubts began to creep in. He was a muggle, for one, and he had just enough of Dennis' qualities to worry her. It broke her heart but she Obliviated his memories of her and slipped out, leaving the ring on his nightstand. She still hasn't told anyone about it. |
