Behaviors; Sunshine and marigolds are the first two things to come to mind for most when talking or describing the rather rambunctious Gretchen. With a rather bubbly attitude in general, she is often found smiling and laughing even in the bleakest of times, being optimistic to the core though inside, within her mind, she is often a cynic, mocking the words of hope and faith always spurting from her lips.
A push over since childhood, Gretchen often avoids confrontation by backing down even when she is indeed right within her actions mostly because she hates to be a disappointment or problem. Gretchen often has a problem of putting her own needs and her own life behind her to help those around her because she under-values herself. To say she isn't aware of her own kindness and sweet nature would be an understatement, within Gretchen's own mind, she may as well be the devil himself.
Though sheltered and hardly worldly, Gretchen is a quick learner and a rather good person to have when in crisis. She is very level headed, quick upon her toes and doesn't allow panic to grip her most of the time. This can often be connected to her fear of crying, having been one since birth to cry little to never, often bottling up and suppressing her own feelings from being ashamed of them, even if they aren't of a dirty or detrimental nature. Anger, rage, sadness - these are all emotions in which no one truly gets to see out of her often if ever.
It is said that some people put walls upon their hearts and around their minds, Gretchen very much does this. Letting people in is something she isn't capable of - often trying but failing miserably. She is somewhat unaware of how cut off she can be mostly because she is friendly and kind, listens to all and isn't afraid to converse with people. However, she isn't necessarily open about her feelings and thoughts.
Most think or assume they truly know her however since she barley knows herself, this isn't possible. Only one in a great while does someone get in and normally when it happens, its because she has fallen in love if she knows it or not.
When considering her sense of humor, it often varies though she prefers the comedy stiles of George Carlin & Eddie Izzard. If she is over tired, everything around her can indeed be giggle worthy however when wide awake, jokes hardly make her laugh though she generously sport a smile and a small 'ha' to someone to make them feel better.

- Gretchen dreams of one day being a published novelist. She believes that if she becomes published then her father will be able to live vicariously through her.
- Gretchen suffers from a missing sweet tooth. She doesn't necessarily like candy or baked goods that much. She prefers vegetables and fruit or REALLY greasy food.

- Gretchen has read over five hundred books in her lifetime. She began reading at the age of seven, a late bloomer, but was reading and understanding Moby Dick by age eleven.
- Gretchen secretly dreams that one day a man will call her out on all her crap. That he will see her for her and find the truth more interesting then the lie.
- Though addicted to shopping, Gretchen tends to wear the same ten pieces over and over. She finds those pieces reliable and comfortable.
- Though allergic to cats & dogs, Gretchen still loves both to the point that as a teen she received allergy shots daily just to keep her cat Smokey.
- Gretchen is secretly bi-polar. Though she can control it well with her meds, at times she falls into deep depressions which leave her aimless and distant from everyone.
- Is addicted to the board game monopoly. She often spends most of her time playing online or with anyone she can talk into playing. Her family officially hates the game because of this.
- On her right hip has a tattoo of a bunny, the nickname a nurse gave her at birth. The tattoo is covering up another one she got a month prior to that one, it says "Tony", it's her ex boyfriends name. The one man she saw a future with.
- An addict to coffee, Gretchen spends a lot of her time in coffee shops pretending to read or write on her laptop - instead she simply studies people.
- Gretchen finds that intellectual men stimulate her more then handsome men... and yet she never dates the intellectual guy in fear of him hurting her. She instead dates the rather stupid handsome men because she knows they can't hurt her.

- Gretchen is addicted to cuddling. She finds being held by anyone more comforting then anything else in the world. She blames her grandfather Bernard for this, when she was a girl he would cuddle her and watch television with her.
- Growing up Gretchen and her two siblings were not allowed to watch TV... so they saved up together and bought a telescope to point it through the neighbors window to watch their TV. Because of this Gretchen can read lips very well.
