Description: Jade bears a fairly even mix of his Fae and Gnomish hertiage in his features. Where most Fae have delicate, small attributes, Jade has the strong nose and wide mouth of his father's ancestry. His eyes, however, all are Fae, bright, large, and twinkling blue, hinting at an intelligence that far belies his apparently young age even though they are a bit unfocused. His hair is always kept in a wild state of dissarray and usually bears traces of mud or dirt, as he almost always runs his fingers through the front of it while he is thinking, regardless of whether his hands are coated in earth are not. Dark smudges are similarly found across his forehead and cheeks. A hand-rolled, home-grown cigarette is almost always dangling from the corner of his lips, and he presents himself with a cool aloofness that carries over into his mannerisms as well.
His stature is not particularly large or muscular, and he stands at only 5 feet and 7 inches. He does not care much for trends, but sticks to standard, classic styles, and as such can be typically seen in fitted denims and teeshirts.

Personality: Jade is young by his species' standards, but due to his lineage he has remarkable powers over the earth that most older Fae or Gnomes have yet to possess. This is not lost on him; he is well aware of how powerful he is, and is quite smug about it most of the time. Not aggressively so, but he has been known to ruffle a few feathers the wrong way when he asserts himself. To say that he can run off at the mouth is an understatement, and he never backs down from challenges, even when the odds are stacked against him. For the most part, though, he likes to keep to himself and his plants and mind his own business, though this is not to say that he actively avoids other people. He's easy to talk to, and his tongue is as sharp and quick as his wit; he appreciates a good verbal spar, and will favor anyone who can match him in one.
Though he is technically blind, he can 'see' through the vibrations in the ground and any flora that might be around. As such, he does tend to grow a bit quieter when he is in an area without any plantlife; this is only because he is focusing on orienting himself.
Background: Jade is the offspring of a rare union between a Dryad and a Gnome. Perhaps it was the unusual circumstance of the coupling, or the fact that he was born beneath the ground far removed from the sun, but either way Jade was born completely blind. This abnormality was made up for in the unusual affinity the boy possessed in Nature magics. Even from a young age, he could commune with the roots and vines around his home, and had advanced skills in burrowing and shaping the earth around him. Despite this, he was always treated as being 'delicate' by his kin due to his disability, something he hated, and so he quickly learned how to overcome this by mastering the element over which he had such control. He taught himself to use earth as an extension of his senses, relying on vibrations, movement and the whispers of the plants above to help guide him through his subterranean home. It wasn't long after he figured this out that he found his way to the surface along the root system of his favorite tree.
The fae side of him was instantly drawn to the warmth of the sun on his face and the cushion of grass beneath his soles. The plants greeted him like an old friend, whispering to him descriptions of the glade around him while the earth's tremors, unfelt by normal men, greeted him with a unique visual layout of the area. It was this exploration of the Faerie glade underneath which he was born that taught him how to navigate above ground, and it was here that he also met his first human. She was a young woman from a neighboring town, and she rode atop a strange four-legged creature she called a 'horse'. She seemed very concerned for the blind, naked little boy despite his objections that this was where he lived, and took him back with her to care for him.
He found he rather liked humans. They were simple, and they were kind, even if they did patronize him rather a lot. The family he lived with gave him a human name, Jadon, which he was not particularly fond of at first, and thus was the beginning of his time above-ground as Jadon Terris.
He lived under this moniker for many years. Though he aged slower than most mortals, he did eventually blossom into a young man. He escaped suspicion by moving around a lot from place to place, never lingering in any one place long enough for other humans to notice is decelerated aging process. He made a living for himself by assisting with farmwork. He avoided drafting in the wars because he was blind, but volunteered to help provide natural medicines.
He proved himself successful with females, but never engaged in anything serious. His life had been a long, nomadic one, and when he caught wind of the cirque, he decided to join on if only to be around other mystical creatures.
Magic Powers:
Flora Manipulation Jade is able to control and communicate with plant life. He is able to pull roots, vines, and plants from the earth at will, and can urge them to grow at extremely accelerated rates. If he desires, he can even coax them to grow to enormous sizes, which is precisely what he does to create the Wonderland Gardens. He's tremendously protective of the plants that he grows, and they of him, and it is their whispers that help to guide him through life despite his blindness.
Geokinesis He can create, shape and manipulate earth, specifically soil and stone. He does this mostly to create statues, hills, or burrows in the Wonderland Gardens, but can also use it to burrow himself into the earth to travel quickly, and also to sleep and rejuvinate. The vibrations he feels through the earth's surface give him a 'visual' of his surroundings, which is why he is always in bare feet, as shoes impede his ability to feel those reverberations.
Gnomish Physiology As a descendant of gnomish ancestry, Jade has been given the gifts of decelerated aging, advanced strength, and the ability to regenerate and heal himself by burrowing into the earth. It also grants him a natural affinity for crafting potions.
