PERSONALITY
LIKES: Dancing. Shopping. Horror movies. Cartoons. Make-up. Music. Food. Chocolate. Muscle cars. Clothing. Playing dress up. Drinking. Animals. DISLIKES: Bugs. Being scared. Rude people. Creepy things she doesn't understand. Rules. Being controlled. Hangovers.
Rayanne is your typical girl who likes causing trouble wherever she goes; stealing the smallest thing, manipulating just about anyone, to literally getting behind the wheel of a car and driving off with it. Rebelling against the system was another thing she enjoyed. Any and all orders that have been given to her were always ignored, unless they appealed to her in some way, as in a matter of getting something back she fancied quite a lot. She'll never do something without getting something in return.
As bitchy as she can get, Rayanne is actually a really fun person to be around. Being openly affectionate and always wanting to cuddle and hug the nearest person has been a strong positive side to her, it may be one of the only things that made her good. Since being open and adventurous didn't always mean she sugar coated everything she says. She curses like a sailor, is brutally honest, and is openly sexual as much as she is affectionate. And she can be very dramatic in a theatrical way.
When she becomes friends with someone- after being able to trust the crap out of them, she is the most loyalist person anyone would wish to have by their side. She cares and takes care of her friends. Will drop whatever it is she is doing and will help however she can. To her, as much as she is more flight than fight, surviving with one person who has her back just as she does theirs, she will fight for their safety just as much as she would her own.
She is very confident, with her actions and herself. The girl does have her weak spots, she just never allows anyone to see them, because that will easily allow anyone to conquer and rule until they were pleased. Though, it doesn't take much to scare the living crap out of her. She does love her horror movies and haunted houses tours, but anything that comes out of nowhere and jumps from nowhere, get ready for a high pitch squeal of terror and a possible punch to the face.
INFO
FAMILY: Mother (alive- lack contact), Father (deceased), Brother (deceased), Best friend (hackthe) SKILLS: High school education. Two semesters of college before dropping out. Dancing; stripping. Stealing cars. Stealing whatever she wants. Working on any and all kinds of mechanics thanks to her father teaching her at a young age, and also taking a few courses and learning on her own. POWER: Electrokinesis; She is able to create electricity, though her strength depends upon the situation most of the time. With close to being able to control it, she is able to determine the mass and distance of how much she wants to release. But, most of the time it's random when it comes to how strong her charge could be. Best to keep any and all kinds of electronics away from her. As much as she enjoys being able to charge such electronical devices like a rechargable battery... it really depends whether she would overcharge or do it correctly. The drawback of having such a power is being weak against water and rubber when using it, not that she could possibly become dangerous and such measures would be needed. And over using her ability, it could leave her feeling utterly weak and exhausted- looking like the living dead. She has been able to control some electronics in a way to help charge her up, giving her their power and filling her up, but in the end killing said source. WEAKNESSES: Chocolate. Horror movies. All that glitz and glamour; jewelry mostly, but on a rare occasion she would dress up for the hell of it. Clothing. Shopping in itself. Muscle cars. Pizza and ramen being her two top favorites and easily to succumb to. Her curiosity gets the better of her a lot of the times. STRENGTHS: Her friends and those she calls family- and that is few. Street smarts and knowing when not to enter a suspicious looking van that is offering candy... well, sometimes. Knowing her way around a car, mostly muscle cars, but she has those hands that are pretty handy and can show any man that a woman can do it just as well. Knowing when to stop with the booze when she has had way too many. Defending herself. Being the somewhat rational person during a panic. Speaking Spanish and Russian.
HISTORY
Her childhood isn’t one of the greatest tales. Hell, she would completely forget about it by being hypnotized if she had the money for it. But it’s there, and there really isn’t much she could do about it. Could go on saying it shaped who she is today and how she works around people, how she takes in life, and goes day by day doing whatever she wants because she can.
Rayanne is of Russian descent. Her mother morso growing up in such a lifestyle than her father, though anyone could see he showed signs of being proud of who he was and where he came from. However, when it came to their children, that apparently depended upon whether or not they were not completely human. In this case.. It would be Rayanne. Whether her brother had showed signs that he was special or not, no one seemed to really bother to care or make a big deal about it. Unlike how they did with her. Maybe because she was the youngest and a girl. Since all Russians seemed to praise their first born- especially when it was a male first born. She was young when her power decided to make an untimely appearance. Young enough for her to remember exactly what happened and how it changed a lot of things for her family, but not old enough to comprehend what was going on. Why was her mother upset? Yeah, she did accidentally hurt her older brother- she didn’t mean to do it. She didn’t understand how she did it.
For almost a year the family tried all they could to put things back to how they were before the incident- basically ignoring the fact that Rayanne had this strange power and could toy with electricity like it was nothing at all. But the young girl realized nothing was the same. Her mother ignored her the best that she could. Paying more attention to her brother. She never existed to her mother anymore. Her mother didn’t even want to try. Her father could no longer handle the way things were going- seeing how his own wife was treating their daughter as if she was some kind of deformed creature that didn’t deserve any love whatsoever. The marriage ended between them, divorce papers were signed, and that was the last time Rayanne saw her brother and so much as got a glance of the back of her mother’s head.
They didn’t settle at first. Moved from here and there. Friends were made and then forgotten. Schools became nothing but a phase. Same people, but different atmosphere.
Rayanne was in her mid-teens when they finally found a place they could call home. Well, for however long that might be. With her father trying to keep food on the table and keep himself in a job- taking on more than two to bring in money for the both of them, but mostly for her. The man was a gambler at heart. Has always been like this since her brother was merely a thought. So, trying to keep money in that wallet of his... Well... That was obviously a very hilarious thought. But he tried. Only for her. He did what he could to keep her mind occupied. Like, literally teaching her how to fix cars, since it was a passion as well as a hobby for the old man. Would have taught his son, but since he took his daughter and feared for her well-being with that witch of an ex-wife of his, Rayanne was the next best thing he could do to try and see if she would enjoy what he did. Surprisingly, the young girl was truly fascinated by what he knew and what could be done to the car- making changes to it, healing it in a way of repairing the broken pieces. She got into it so much, being upset and worrying about her father was put on the backburner. He tried getting her into sports, but that didn’t work out so well as the mechanic life did.
Obviously Rayanne had no idea about her father’s gambling problem. She simply figured with the house they lived in, having a car, and pretty much having to take care of her and her needs, it must have taken quite a toll on being able to keep money for themselves. But the biggest thing about her father’s life that she had no clue about was... the man had a power of his own. How else was the gene passed down to Rayanne? Yeah, it could have skipped a generation and landed with her because it likes to ruin a girl’s life. However, she had no idea it didn’t just affect her. She was an early bloomer unlike her brother. The thing her father was able to do was manipulate the mind- sort of in the way of telepathy, making one believe this is there when it really was. He didn’t quite understand what it was he could do, but he did it well with loading his pockets full of bills. While Rayanne lived a life living in the shadows of what her father could do and what he was doing, the mob got their grubby hands upon the man and used him for all he was worth- including that power of his. There have been so many times when he wanted to tell Rayanne what it was he was doing, for the both of them, and that she wasn’t alone when it came to her power. She still was unable to control it and could have caused so many accidents to herself and toward innocent bystanders. He knew what he was doing was for the best.. For the both of them.
Things were suddenly alright. Not the greatest. But, they were far better than how things were. The term of spending lavishly was close to possible when it came to her and what her father spent money on when it came to her. He spoiled the rotten hell out of her. As much as she appreciated the gesture and love put into it, a lot of that money could be put into a bank account and collect interest. This new job of his was out of the blue and paid very well. Suspicions were made and questions were asked, but she would always get the run around and the easy answer of “everything is good.. We’re good”. She should have kept prying.
Oh. Yeah. She found out what happened to him. Who did it to him and why. And why such a discovery and what she had to do changed her so much.
The mob knew she was alive, knew who she was, and where she was at all times. Asking so many questions and being your own detective never looked good with a crime boss or his goons- especially when they worked so closely with the police. The Don simply waved his hand and told two of his men to take care of the girl and that would be the end of it. If only a wave of a hand and two men coming after her with guns were as easy as it simply was for the man. It really wasn’t. Though, Rayanne didn’t stick around long enough to figure that out. After they tried to kill her and she electriced them to death with her power, she ran out of that city like a bat out of hell. Luckily for her, she was well and down with school and could get herself out of the system, regardless of being a little rebel and getting herself into all kinds of trouble while being chained down by the government. Once she was eighteen... they couldn’t do nothing to stop her and bring her back into their custody. She was finally a free woman.
A free woman...
As much as that sounded like skipping through a field of daisies in a slo-motion effect, she still did something really really bad. Killing another being was still illegal the last time she checked. Whether they could determine it was self-defense or not, the police would dig deeper and deeper to find out just how it happened and what did she use, and where in the world did she stashed the murder weapon. Going to the police wasn’t going to happen. She knew better than to walk into the office and ask them to arrest her. Despite her obviously having an ability that no one would understand, living on the streets on and off during foster care had taught her better than that. Snitching to the police would get you in a lot of trouble. The kids out there were smart and showed her the ins and outs of living and taking care of yourself without the need of anyone giving a hand. With her now fully living on the streets, literally having to move out of the state she was living in, and sadly having to leave behind everyone that she knew... Including her own brother. Her father may have had secrets, but so did she. Rayanne never once told him that she tried to keep in contact with her brother- speaking to him on the phone as often as she could, and writing him letters as well as getting a few postcards to send him that she knew he would like. But after the funeral, after... all of this, she had lost the effort to pick up that phone and speak to him. And, yes, it could have been the fact that she killed people and would instantly break down and tell him the moment she heard his voice. So it was best she kept her distance. It would save him just as much as it would for her.
There were a few bumps- okay, extremely huge ones- along the way of trying to get herself back up on her feet and not be a complete bum for the rest of her life. The struggles were real. Sleeping out on the streets and in shelters were done more than once. But, it was stealing to keep herself feed and clothed that took skills to master. Took a few tries- almost getting caught and literally getting caught to finally being a sly little thing and taking wallets like it was candy from a baby. Getting into little trouble slowly became big trouble, which in turn let out a very violent odor for the pigs of the city in uniform to come waltzing her way. But only really one in particular. This copper seemed to enjoy raining down on Rayanne’s parade whenever he could. They played a game of cat and mouse from her late teens to her late twenties. There was a time where a break was made, which allowed the young girl to land herself a job and save up money that way to get her places, instead of doing it the way she has been- even if it was a lot more fun. And you’d think she would get a job in the hobby that she loved the most, the very one her father taught her at a young age, but no one was hiring a mechanic without a degree.. Let alone a woman. So, she was reduced to dancing with a pole and stripping what clothing she had on for the pleasure of others. Sounds horrible but it was actually a lot of fun, because she was able to teach herself some different moves with the pole and dancing. Another passion of her’s she has now discovered she enjoyed. She knew in the back of her head that her brother wouldn’t like what she was doing, and thinking of him made her a bit sad, but, he would be proud of her for getting into college with that kind of money.
Sadly... College didn’t last. She tried. That’s all that counted. Rules, rules, and more rules... She never did well with them. At least, coming out of the place, she got a better understanding about mechanics and wanting to teach herself some more to better train herself. She always did better with teaching herself than listening to someone else do it.
This may be the last time she saw her favorite man in blue. She had her fun and games, running into him at all hours of the day and night. Would have left him a little present, but there was more important things to do than get herself in trouble on purpose to attract him and bring him toward the trap- whatever trap that may have been. Rayanne was so close to moving, had everything ready to go, but a strange knock on the door and this strange woman standing there changed everything. Meeting Liliana was bittersweet in the beginning. After hearing the news about her brother passing made her wish she tried harder to keep in contact with him. They had something in common though, wanting to get to the bottom of this and figure out what happened and why. It had been awhile since Rayanne got close to someone, as close to person enough to tell her about herself and what it was she could do. She trusted Liliana. They became fast friends- the best of the best of friends. They did everything together and had fun doing it, and that included getting themselves into all kinds of trouble. And as curious as the both of them were, when a carnival came to town in the one they decided to stay in, it was only in their right mind to check it out, right? Curiosity got the cat alright! As well as the girl who could create electricity. Things were going to get interesting working for a beast and meeting all kinds of interesting people from all over the place. What more could possibly happen?
