Whoops; what I meant to say was that Rocket will have found a corpse, with Gretel, and he'd excuse himself from the scene so he can go find a pub and get blind-drunk. The note he'll leave for her won't be too clear, since he doesn't really want to be bothered by anyone, but at the same time he'll want company.
