Powers:
Astral Projection: Both at will and while she sleeps, Quill can project her consciousness from her body and go pretty much anywhere, and that includes to what she calls the Veil- the foggy space of reality between life and death. She can listen in on real-time conversations and spy on people, or see who might be home (or not home) in the house she plans on squatting in. That sort of thing.
Astral Location (Tactile): Quill can find the location of any object or person, as long as she is able to hold a piece of whatever she's looking for- for example, if someone were looking for a cherished ring, she would need to touch the owner. If she were looking for a lost child, she would need to hold their favorite toy.
Supernatural Location: Similar to her object/person location ability, Quill can also locate any magical or supernatural creature within approximately twenty miles of her person.

Personality:
Philosopher: Quill is a deep thinker. Besides the illegal chemicals that sustain her addiction, the best thing in life to her is a mutual, intelligent conversation about the things in this life that go beyond the simple senses. People that can't keep up with her reflections tend to annoy her, and she's not shy about letting them know how they failed to live up to their human potential. Her line of thinking often leans toward the darker areas of philosophy and introspection, though that may have more to do with her life in general than any chemical make-up of her brain.
Story Teller: Quill's creativity is so vivid, some might confuse it with psychosis. She weaves stories both for her own entertainment and through daily life, having no qualms with spinning elaborate, outlandish yarns for no reason at all. Most people who have regular interaction with Quill are familiar with her wild tale-telling, and for everything else, know to take everything she says with a grain of salt.
Pragmatist: Some might call it scrupulous morals- Quill calls it survival. Her empathy and general sense of goodwill has severely atrophied after living most of her life on the streets. She does what's good for her first, without fail.
History: Yana Ludvic was born only two weeks after her mother first set foot in the United States from Lithuania. Not speaking a word of English and in the country on a temporary visitor's Visa, Yulia gave birth in the cramped trailer that belonged to one of her cousins- a performer in a small-time traveling carnival. That's where she and her new daughter stayed for several years, traveling with the roadies during the on-season, camping off the small Southern towns below the frost line in the winter.
Yana stayed tied to her mother's apron strings for much of her childhood, lingering just out of sight while Yulia read the fortunes of paying townies. Her abilities were not the same as her mother's, and not particularly useful to the 'trade'. This disappointed Yulia, already a heavy drinker and smoker. Their relationship was strained and sometimes violent. As Yana grew closer to puberty, the distance between she and her mother grew. By the time she was sixteen, she was done with the carnival almost completely. The fact that her mother never returned after a particularly sour binge was just the catalyst for Yana to finally leave. That was in the late summer, and the carnival had just left Joliet, Illinois. Yana hitchiked her way into the city of Chicago, and that's where she's been ever since.
Weaknesses:
Desperate: Either for the next meal or the next score, not a lot of Quill's life is predictable except for the Struggle. She's often reduced to the bare bottom-scrapings of humanity just to get what she needs. That includes lying, cheating, stealing, and on rarer occasions, violence.
Codependent: The streets are a lonely place, so when Quill finds someone- anyone- she has an even remote personal connection to, she tends to hold on with desperate tenacity, and often these relationships are less than healthy.
Homeless: She's been homeless off and on since as far back as she can remember, crossing the country most often in the company of small-time carnival travelers that sheltered her mother. She's uneducated and susceptible to a million hardships that come with the life of extreme poverty.
Addict: Current fixes of choice are alcohol, narcotic-grade pain killers, and ADHD medication.
Strengths:
Street Wise: Quill knows which restaurants and high-end grocery stores have unlocked dumpsters, what churches leave their back arches open, and the signs of someone looking for a mark. She's always armed with something sharp and knows how to use it- she's also willing to use it, which is an important factor. She's survived in the urban and rural jungles of the United States since early childhood- even though a million random circumstances could end her 'good luck' streak, she knows what she's doing.
Intelligent: Though her intellect was never tapped by a proper education, Quill is still a sharp thinker and problem solver. It may not be winning her any genius grants, but it keeps her alive. Unfortunately sometimes it also makes her depressed.
