While not as tall as his father, it's quite possible that he has a late adolescence growth spurt ahead of him. At 19, he still has the gangliness of a colt, though it is clear he will grow into his height and the length of his limbs--eventually. He inherited Hermione's coloring, though thankfully not the bushiness of her hair. His eyes are a bright blue, perhaps his one Weasley feature other than the height. In the summer he does sport faint freckles on his nose, though they've faded as he's gotten older. (This is something for which Hugo is grateful, as he was tired of being called adorable.)
Hugo is good looking and knows it. He's been known to use his charming smile and innocent face to get out of numerous scrapes. He hoped for a long time that he'd lose the 'Boy Next Door' look in favor of a more mysterious air, but he really can't complain much. He has the metabolism of a healthy, athletic young man; which comes in handy as he has inherited his father's love of pie.VITAL STATS:
HEIGHT: 5'11
WEIGHT: 170lbs
DISTINGUISHING MARKS: A small birthmark on his right hip that rather looks like a hawk; a runic tattoo on his right bicep that he got with [SOMEONE AWESOME] after leaving Hogwarts
DRESS STYLE: Casual robes, Muggle clothes (especially jeans and hoodies). Nothing too special, as a lot gets ruined in his line of work.
OTHER INFO: Often appears battered and bruised due to the nature of his work.
Some would call Hugo Weasley an almost perfect blend of his parents. He inherited Hermione's brains and Ron's study habits; Ron's love of Quidditch and Hermione's love of books. Naturally, as a Weasley, he also inherited a great appreciation for a good prank, and drove his sister nuts as a child with all the pranks he pulled.History:
Aside from Quidditch, Hugo's favorite activity is unraveling mysteries. He's not quite sure when he started being intrigued by the unknown, but it probably started around his fifth birthday when Hermione hid clues to where his presents were hiding that he had to solve before he could find them. Ever since, if there was ever something to be investigated, Hugo was first in linecomplete with a deerstalker cap and pipe.
Overall, Hugo is a rather uncomplicated fellow. As long as he has friends to play Quidditch with, a mystery to unravel and a pretty girl to flirt with, he's fairly happy. He'd do anything for his extended family, and enjoys the large family get together more than is socially cool for a bloke his age. But Hugo has never been very concerned with what other people think, and since his family is basically filled with BAMFs, other people are obviously just jealous.Strengths: Good sense of humor, intelligent, determined, logical, athletic, loyal; Ancient Runes, Transfiguration, DADA, Charms
Weaknesses: Hot headed, loud mouthed, impulsive, tactless; Potions
Likes: Quidditch, mysteries, pretty girls, fast brooms, debates, his family, interesting spells, Ancient Runes, logic puzzles, dogs, books, DOING STUFF
Dislikes: Inactivity, know-it-alls, chocolate ice cream, blood purists, cats, being bored, lazy people, spiders
Motivation: While Hugo isn't as obsessed with academic perfection and social justice as his mother, or as plagued with insecurities as his father, he does have goals and dreams and the determination to achieve them.
Fears: HUGO HAS NO FEARS! (That's a big fat lie: he fears mummies, deep water, and scary caves...BUT A CURSE BREAKER HAS TO DEAL WITH ALL THESE THINGS SO HE PRETENDS REALLY WELL)
Hugo was born in 2008, and is one of the youngest Weasley cousins. He rather enjoyed being spoiled and doted upon by his older cousins, though hated to be called 'the baby'. As soon as he could walk, he was always toddling after the older kids, begging to be able to play with them. For the most part, his childhood was uneventful. Despite being two of the more famous war heroes, Ron and Hermione did their best to keep their children out of the media and give them a stable, well-rounded childhood. Rose and Hugo attended a public Muggle school, and Hugo proved to be almost as bright as Hermione. However, he took after his father in the study habits department, and never excelled as well as he could have. Hugo and Rose were close growing up, and though Hugo complained about it, he didn't mind when she dressed him up as her little sister for tea parties and the like. This is something he would never admit to his older cousins, especially James Sirius, who he idolized.Occupational History: After leaving Hogwarts, Hugo had a tough time deciding what to do: Quidditch, Auror training, Department of Mysteries, Private Investigator; and took a summer off from any responsibilities. Well, he tried anyway, and was bored after three weeks, at which point he decided to go with Curse Breaking, which combined all of the things he liked into one badass career. At the time he enters Lockewood, he's in his 2nd year of Apprenticing to a Senior Curse Breaker (possibly Uncle Bill?) at Gringott's.
In 2020, Hugo went off to Hogwarts and was happy to be Sorted into Gryffindor. The Hat debated for a long time between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, but eventually acquiesced to Hugo's desire to be in the same House as his parents and many of his cousins. He quickly made friends with his yearmates, and showed himself to be one of the best students in his year. He was quick to pick up on the practical aspects of the lessons, though his essays left much to be desired. Hogwarts was a very enjoyable time for Hugo, who was thrilled to be around so much family. He didn't worry overly much about being thought of as 'just another Weasley', because he didn't see anything wrong with that. The Weasleys were brilliant, after all, so why should he worry about it.
In 4th year he began dating a Ravenclaw girl, who challenged him to do better academically. It was clear that Hugo was very bright, possibly one of the brightest students in the school, but his lazy study habits didn't reflect that. Hugo, though at first just attending study sessions in the library to impress the girl, began to honestly enjoy using his brain to its full potential. He started to challenge the professors during class, asking questions that reminded many of them of his mother. He especially excelled in Transfiguration and Ancient Runes, though not so much Arithmancy.
That isn't to say that Hugo spent all his time studying. He joined the Quidditch team in 3rd year, and was made Captain in 6th. He thought for a long time that professional Quidditch would be the ideal career post-Hogwarts, though by the time he left Hogwarts the idea of a purely physical profession had started to lose its appeal. His parents encouraged him to take some time after school to decide on a career path, but he didn't even last three weeks before he was bored out of his mind. On a rather rash decision, he applied for a Curse Breaker Apprenticeship through Gringott's, and never looked back. The job was an almost perfect combination of ceberal and physical work, and kept both body and mind engaged.
Romantically, the only relationship Hugo was in was with the Ravenclaw girl, though they decided at the end of 7th year that it was best if they parted as friends. They both wanted to explore the world and the opportunities that were out there, and if their paths led them back together in the future than it was meant to be. Hugo had never seriously looked at anyone else in that way, but found he didn't exactly lack for opportunities. In the two years since Hogwarts, Hugo has dated several women (almost all of them several years older than him) and the occasional man. His dating habits can best be described as serially monogamous. (I.E., he's interested in just one person at a time, but the relationships rarely last very long.)
Idea 1: Hugo has an irrational hatred of Scorpius Malfoy. He can't explain it, he just doesn't like the guy. So finding out about him and James Sirius will be hilarious.Examples
Idea 2: It's always fun to have him be all O_O WTF that he's nearly the same age as his Mum and Uncle Harry. Plus, all the other various relatives of varying ages will be good for some WTF times.
Idea 3: Hugo is going to want to know what's going on. He doesn't like not knowing things, and there is nothing he loves more than a good mystery to unravel. Also I have a sick need to see him try flirting/flattering Rita Skeeter into giving away her secrets.
First Person:Well...this has been an interesting day. One moment, I was about to explore a new tomb with Uncle Bill, and the next I'm...here. Wherever here is. I'm not entirely convinced I haven't been put under some sort of curse-induced hallucination. There doesn't seem to be much I can do about it, so for now I've decided to just play along. Eventually I'll find out the truth, and find a way to break the curse.
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing what sorts of hallucinations this Curse will bring on. I'm sure it will be valuable research for the paper I'm required to sumbit to the International Board of Curse Breakers in September. Certainly there are few people who will be able to claim the same sort of experience.
Third Person:Hugo Weasley was not a man to sit idly by as life happened around him. Rather, he was the sort to take an active hand in shaping his own destiny. Not that he believed in destiny, so to speak, but he did believe in taking a firm hand to get what you wanted.
However, walking around the strange town in which he'd found himself, Hugo was beginning to realize that sometimes, whether or not you believed in it, Destiny had a different plan. And in this case, Destiny went by the name Rita Skeeter.
And it was time he made an attempt to find out just what was going on.
