If anyone has any advice about eReaders, I'd love to hear it.
I wasted the entire day playing around with Mobipocket Reader and Creator, because no matter what, that'll probably be the platform I'll be using. And the best part is, of course, making book covers:
I started by taking old icons and just remaking them, then I moved on to making original stuff (which mostly turned out worse, which figures). And some of these really suck, I know, but it's just for me, so who cares, right? I really like the metal heart and The Failure of Einstein's Universe ones.
Also, these are all different sizes and shapes because I was trying to figure out the dimensions (which I couldn't find anywhere!). I think I finally got it right: 1000x700px.
Naturally, I've just realized that there is a way for me to keep the italics/bold formatting, all I have to do is save the text as html and then make an html document (instead of a txt document, which doesn't retain formatting) that I then convert, so I'm going to have to remake most of these. Joy!
Except for the ones made with Fanfiction Downloader, which is like my favorite new thing. Oh, except I tried making those directly into Mobipocket files, which of course made it impossible to have a cover image (at least I can't figure out a way to add it), so I've already remade those. Luckily, the program made an html copy as well, so that one was easy.
Oh, also:
