In which I try this "posting more than twice a month" thing. We'll see how it goes
Okay, so here's the thing... I was entertained for most of it, but all throughout the movie I was slightly annoyed by Pepper's development - or should I say devolvement? I just didn't like a single thing they did with her. Even the CEO thing felt more like "well, we can't have her be completely useless and just swoon in the corners like, so what do we do? Oh, I know, let's make her the boss, that'll shut up all the naysayers who dare to question our inability to write strong female characters".

Since watching the movie, this is pretty much the only thing I can think of when I try to figure out my impression of it. I can't even remember that yes, I did enjoy RDJ, as I always do, and yes, there were things that went BOOM, and yes, there were things that worked. Because all I can think of is that they made Pepper so much of a shell of what she was in the first movie that when Tony and Pepper finally kissed I didn't even care. And the 'shipper comm for them is one of the few 'shipper comms on LJ that I belong to!

I'm letting my disappointment about this one aspect of the movie color the experience so much that I just can't bring myself to like it. I'm hoping that by the time the DVD comes out I'll have come to terms with it enough not to let it be all I see. And maybe by then I'll have read some meta or fic that makes it all less annoying.

/spoiler space

Is it just me or is LJ ridiculously dead today? Is everyone off reading the tenth Sookie Stackhouse installment or something (OMG, so excited! I've got my grubby paws on it and now I've just got to finish the book I'm currently reading so that I can dive in!)
