Weekend O' Sloth
I'm sitting here, anxiously awaiting the end of Long Way Down on BBC Two (update: by the time I'm ready to post it's already been over for 40 minutes. And not a file in sight. *sigh*, and wondering if anyone will think to upload it quickly so that I can see it sometime tonight. Thankfully there was Daylight Savings, so my internal clock still thinks it's ten pm instead of eleven.

My oldest icon. The text is a bastardization of Spike's line "the sun sets and she appears" from my favorite Buffy episode Once More with Feeling. It's really more appropriate for Spike anyway since Buffy can come and go at any time of the day or night, while Spike really does have to wait until the sun sets. The images are from the porch scene in Flooded.

This is the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster's version of the Jesus fish. Basically, the whole thing is about Intelligent Design being taught in schools, and how if the Christian version is taught, so should the various other religions', including the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster's. Since I think Intelligent Design being taught in schools is about the most ridiculous thing ever, I had to have an icon. Used for religious and political posts. In other words: not often.

I love the visual of this in the movie, with everyone still looking like they're asleep and then raising their hands. Used when I need a metaphorical or an actual wake up call.

come back to the five and dime, jimmy beam, jimmy beam

I love Conan, and since I do a lot of translating of his show, this icon doubles as a work icon. The comment is a play on words from the movie Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (which I've never actually seen. I don't even know what it's about</i>), substituting Jimmy Dean for Jimmy Beam since he's pouring booze on his cereal (though in this case, I think it's Jack Daniel's).

I have two keywords for this icon. The original one was "clouds", but when I deleted the icon for "gimme a break" I figured I could pair it with this icon, it fits almost as well as the original. I actually do this a lot, both to keep comment icons from reverting to my default, but also in order to preserve the exact phrasing of a keyword in case I ever want to give it to a new icon I'm uploading.

From the 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice. The keywords are from Elizabeth's refusal of Darcy's proposal in Kent:

"...do you think that any consideration would tempt me to accept the man who has been the means of ruining, perhaps for ever, the happiness of a most beloved sister?"

The beloved sister in question being Jane, who in the icon is lying in her sick bed at Netherfield. I use this when I'm feeling content, strangely enough. Also good for when you're sick.

i will squash you like elle's last eye

I somehow knew this one was coming. *g* It's from Kill Bill 2, and is actually a remake of an icon I've had since the dawn of time for a long time. I just wanted something with a clearer image and better crop. I guess it's no surprise that I use this icon when I'm EXTREMELY pissed off. It's very satisfying to watch The Bride squash Elle's eye over and over when you're pissed.

And I'll even extend the meme to the comments if anyone wants to ask me about any other icons. Or ask me to pick from yours, of course.

In other news, this weekend I watched all three seasons of Black Books, and I LOVED it. I really want to be capping it right now. And I also watched the first four episodes of Skins. Aside from the two hour nap I took yesterday, I've pretty much been glued to the TV set all day long for two straight days. And it's been fabulous! *g*
