Current mood:okay

don't get any big ideas
In the comments of my post last week there was a discussion about the second (in actual fact, the third) door in Josh's office, and whether anyone ever used it. A lo and behold, in the very next episode I watch (Celestial Navigation for those playing at home) what do I see? That's right, Sam entering through the door. Of course, when I said in the comments that I knew that Sam entered through that door in a scene, that wasn't the scene I was talking about, so I'm still going to have to keep an eye out for that one.

For some reason I fell behind on Dexter and I only just watched the last couple of episodes in the past few days.

I don't know, I've never been a really big Rita fan, but lately she's just BORING me. At least in the beginning she had that wounded sparrow thing going for her, but these days I'm just kind of whatevering all over the place. I care more about Dex's relationship with the kids than I ever did about him and Rita. I think it's pretty much all due to it being a charade on Dexter's part, and how Rita, if she ever found out who he really is, would be absolutely horrified. And with reason. But it just makes their relationship empty and meaningless from the viewers' standpoint. Well, at least this viewer's standpoint.

This right here is the reason I wanted to picspam. Such a gorgeous shot. Too bad it doesn't transfer all that well to picspams. Or icons. *sigh*

I really don't think I should be finding Dex as hot in this scene as I do.

I'm not sure I'm all that happy about the developments in 2x07. I mean, I have absolutely no trouble buying that Lila is a manipulative bitch. I'm just sad they felt the need to go there. Maybe it'll turn out to be something great, but I can't help but feel that it's just unnecessary. I have absolutely no trouble with Dex going back to Rita because it makes him feel pure or whatever, but why couldn't Lila not turn out to be a psycho? I really loved everything that came out of their relationship. I don't care if they're together. Well, except for how I was kind of dreading a hook-up followed by the inevitable "reveal" of what Lila really is. And not without reason, as it turns out. *sigh, sigh, sigh*

I have to say, while Deb was the reason I started out LOVING this season, Dexter has been growing on me in these last few episodes - since Lila arrived, now that I think about it. But it's still Deb's and Dex's relationship that I find the most riveting and heartbreaking. Well, I'm sort of taking out the heartbreak in advance because she has to find out sometime, right? I mean, it's too rich a subject not to approach.

At the start of the season I thought it would definitely happen towards the end of this one, but now I'm hoping it won't, because Deb's work on the task force has made her that much more intractable and right now I'm not at all sure that she'll stick by Dexter (something that I previously was pretty sure she would, after a lot of yelling, crying and denial, especially concerning Harry's role in the whole debacle).

Here's hoping Long Way Down isn't as late this week as it was last week, because 2 am is really altogether too late to start watching something that's an hour long.
