Even though they were likely embarrassing and inconvenient, the events of the street party were simple pranks and not part of some dark agenda. No doubt the outcome of certain Zonko's products.

[James]
Heard you got harassed by Runcorn. What happened?

[Tonks]
I've been told your father is missing.

Who else knows?

We have to...

Remus. Mum knows, and my friends Donaghan Tremlett and Charlie Weasley. I was out with them at a muggle concert so couldn't make it to Diagon Alley as I had initially planned with Pops. Maybe it wouldn't have happened if I had been there with him.

Remus has told you what he saw? Ask your mum to file a missing person report - but don't let her mention what Remus has said. If she even knows. The less they think we know the better, and I don't want to put Remus at risk.

Don't think like that. If you were there, you would likely be missing as well. I'm sure both your parents were glad you were at the concert.

Don't want to sugarcoat things but Mum absolutely loathes the DMLE save the few of us. She filed the report after much reluctance - and of course didn't mention Remus at all because we don't want him getting hurt.

Thank you, KS. Thank you for being kind.

Nothing is ever a part of some dark agenda in this shithole until it totally is.

I'm not ruling it out, but I think You-Know-Who and his followers would aim their sights a bit higher than hexing a potato salad. They like to show off. Makes them feel important.

Not the potato salad, Kings. Rodolphus Lestrange. And the fact that there are rumors swirling among werewolf packs. The more vulnerable individuals are seeking active help against the likes of Fenrir Greyback and his cronies.

Yes, the one Lestrange who had the bloody decency to go to prison is back. I'm hoping he flies too close to the sun.

Tell me more about the werewolves.

We should keep an eye on his putrid wife & brother. They're not infallible. We might just get a few clues.

The werewolves: most packs are stable; few urban individuals who live without any pack-association have checked in with us from time to time to register their well-being or to seek help for small issues, as usual. The ones that have been historically hostile are still maintaining law & order but few that collaborated on petty activities with associates of Greyback are back to their old tricks. Based on reports from Wales and Suffolk etc, key individuals have been travelling to and from France and Germany quite frequently in the past few weeks. Just as an aside, this may be because more hostile werewolf populations still thrive there with very little checks & balances.

Tempted to bring them in for a proper interrogation, but I don't want to look at their smug faces.

That's all we need - an uprising of disgruntled werewolves. Has there been any physical sighting of Fenrir? How are you helping the more vulnerable? I have a well-hidden safehouse if any of them needs it for the full moon.

Gods. You're right about that. One look on their faces and the mood is ruined for at least a week.

Have two reported sightings of him in Wales: Trefriw and Rhyd-Ddu. No news of any casualties, so I'm hoping these were just hysterical locals imagining things. Investigation continues.

I've got a small task force dedicated to helping the vulnerable ones, especially children and teenagers. Apart from counselling and monthly home checks, I'm also making sure any who are approached by a suspect pack for recruitment are shifted to a safe house before being relocated anonymously. Could always use another one - let me know the location in person?

Grim.

So he's in North Wales, at least that narrows it down a little. I'll see that we there is extra staff working the night of the full moon - the Head of the Hitwizards owes me a favour.

It sounds like you're doing a lot. I'll come to your office on Monday; claim it's about dementors or something, and I'll bring some of the good biscuits from the DMLE staffroom.

Don't send your boys & girls out there without a few of mine. Even the toughest ones may crack when they see a fully turned werewolf in front of them. And, of course, worst if there is a whole pack to be dealt with.

The good biscuits? This is why I love you the most.

Bastard took my dick pics

He wanted my journal -- apparently I hadn't been behind the Ministry enough in public. I told him to go fuck himself, but what did I care if he wanted see my journal...fucker has a mad hard on however and I don't think he was acting in good faith.

Also, he squeaked when he walked.

He's a prick of the highest order. Always has been.

But I'm glad you gave it to him. Seems like they're looking for any excuse to cause trouble down here at the DMLE. Apparently Bones is this close to getting the sack.

Yeah, shaped a little like one, too.

No shite? She finally speaks up and now they want to get rid of her -- so, ready to step into the job? Can I call you, sir? And we can't afford a set back, mate.

Ironic, seeing as he's probably lacking in that area.

Head of the DMLE, you mean? I've never particularly fancied it - Bones used to be a great Auror, but now she's bogged down in petty politics and bureaucracy. Reckon Scrimgeour will push for it - he's a tough old sod. And probably a few of our Auror colleagues in a desperate, scrabbling attempt to gain some power. You know what they're like.

Merlin's beard - you're not thinking of it, are you?

But I do have to wonder -- are you out of your fucking mind?

Asking for my wife a friend.

Glad to be of service.

You should give yourself more credit, you'd be a good leader. Not that I would advise it right now - it's been enough to start turning Madam Bones' hair grey.

Don't know. She pissed a few people off with that announcement about Barty; not sure if it's enough to warrant ending her career though.

She might just choose to walk.
