After Laurel's death, Sara asked John to help bring her back using a Lazarus Pit. Laurel was successfully revived and John helped restore Laurel's soul, along with a sonic scream.

Dinah Lance is the eldest daughter of Dinah and Quentin Lance and older sister to Sara Lance. As a child, her life was perfect, happy home, happy family, but in her teen years, things weren't so happy. Her parents were fighting all the time and when she turned to her best friends Oliver Queen and Tommy Merlyn for solace and they kept her out of the house as best as they could, which was all the time.
When she was sixteen, her parents divorced, her mother moved across the country to New York City. Dinah being mad at her mom for leaving never went to visit her, she focused on her life, fell in love with Oliver, decided to be a cop like her father. She finished high school, she got very serious with Oliver, she did a few years of college to get a degree in criminal justice and then entered the police academy.
She had just graduated, in the prime of her life, then everything with Oliver tumbled. She found out he had cheated on her, not with just anyone, her sister. Laurel left, she just didn't know what to do, so she left. She ended up in New York with her mother, got a job as a beat cop and three years later at Tommy's death, she returned home for the funeral,
While she was home, she reconnects with Oliver, they had a one night stand and then she returned back to New York, only to find out a month later, she was pregnant.
Game changer.
She didn't return home, she did tell Oliver. She was put on desk work till Olivia was born, then took leave. When she went back to work, she was still a beat cop and then worked her way to detective and about two years later, her father passed away. Laurel and Olivia travelled home and ended up staying, she moved into her childhood home with her daughter. She became a cop once again settling into life with being home with Olivia. She and Oliver fell into a routine of co-parenting with Olivia and recently she made Homicide Detective. She will start having dreams of her canon life when she and Olivia arrive in Ohana.

Laurel is in the AU!Hero world. She was bord with the sonic scream, there's no Sara in her world, she was the only child of Quentin Lance, was a police officer, while her mother (also named Dinah) which is why she does by Laurel, was the original Black Canary. Laurel was raised to always do the right thing, she was born with a sonic scream, and when she got older her father stop being a cop and started to be a PI, Dinah followed in his footsteps and then moonlighted as the Black Canary, letting her mother retire.

Dinah "Laurel" Lance (born 1984) is the daughter of Detective Quentin Lance and Dinah Lance and the sister of the late Sara Lance. Growing up she had a decent childhood, came from a protective family since her father was a cop and has a strong sense of what's right and wrong. As she got old, she became friends with Oliver Queen and Tommy Merlin. The trio was inseparable, even as they got older and the boys started to act out more with rich boys antics.
Laurel had started to date Oliver Queen and fell in love wit him, however things were moving serious too fast and Oliver ran, into the arms of her sister on a yacht, her sister Sara dies in a violent shipwreck which, also strands Oliver on a remote island, which he's presumed dead as well.
Laurel life moved on, didn't have a choice in the matter when she found out she was pregnant. She got her life together and with the help of her family, she had Johnathan Oliver Lance and then started law school. Life was rough, especially after her mother had left, but once she had finished school, Laurel turned to work and raising her son.
She never told the Queens that Johnathan was Oliver, she just remind silent and didn't subject him much to their social circle. She did remain close friends with Tommy Merlyn, who stepped up as a father/uncle figure in Johnathan life also him and Laurel, causal date/hook up. There was talk of talking the relationship further, but it's plain to see Laurel was looking for that to happen.
With Oliver being rescued, Laurel didn't tell him about Johnathan. He was just adjusting to his new life and she didn't want to add the pressure of him being a father on to it. She kept her distance at first, by his warning and she didn't want to face him about their son. But with a conversation with Tommy, Oliver found out about the boy and when he appeared at her apartment with ice-cream, Johnathan is who answered the door.
They have yet to speak of him being the father of Johnathan, Oliver life had been quite busy since shortly after he was arrested for being The Hood. He had wanted Laurel to take his case, she refused, but at the end came through for him. She argues with her father when she chooses to defend Oliver in his trial.
She tells her father that he can't blame Oliver fully for Sara's death, her pregnancy or the fact that her mother left them afterwards.
Laurel didn't know how much Oliver had went through on the island till then. Laurel and Oliver kiss. She admits that she still has feelings for him but makes it clear that nothing can ever happen between them. She didn't want to get hurt again and she had Johnathan to think of.
Laurel then starts to work The Hood, not thinking of the danger she places herself or Johnathan since Star City is a town ran on corruption and she wants to make it a better place for her son.
When Thea gets in legal trouble to get her out of a long jail sentence Laurel gets her father to get her a deal, meaning as part of her plea bargain, Thea will work at CNRI.
When she calls the Hood, she unwittingly helps her father track him down and is furious with him as it gets her kidnapped. The Hood saves her, but this cause a break between her and her father.
Her and Tommy actually go to the next level, date for a few months, he even unofficially moves in with her and Johnny. But suddenly after a stressful weekend of having a hit on them, he broke up with her, claiming her and Oliver belong together.
She tried to get him back, but then Oliver said he did love her, but couldn't be with her. She had enough, wrote both of them off, then Oliver showed up and suddenly they were back on. It was a great two days, but the Glades were attacked, Laurel was at work, while Johnny was safely on the other side of town. She got hurt, Tommy saved her, then died by the building crushing on him.
Laurel was devastated, refused to see Oliver when he came to see her, then saw him after the funeral. Her and Johnny stayed with her father till Laurel finally snapped back into her life. Oliver had left, still unaware of Johnny being his. She needed to take care of her son and her life. With the DA killed months before and replaced Laurel was offered the job to be Asst. DA and took it. Now she's working through the system to make the City a better place and on the hunt for The Hood.
