Before her world imploded about vampires, werewolves, and even being a witch, Bonnie was known for her caring personality. She was always there for her friends and would support them no matter what. Always trying to see the glass as half-full, she would do anything to make her friends happy and was welcoming to all. Yes, she may have been a bit boy crazy as she mentioned to Elena on the first day about wanting to find a boyfriend; however, that was friends talking to one another. At the end of the day, her friends are more important than a relationship and she won’t just pick some guy to be in one. That does not mean she won’t look though since she has checked out a few of the vampires at times before realizing what they were or what they were like.

When the truth about the town, Bonnie stayed who she was other than embracing her family history as a witch. However, time and everything that happened in the town kept hitting her over and over and the Bonnie everyone knew slowly started to chip away. With the truth out, Bonnie became a bit more cautious about vampires, especially based on the things and actions that she saw from them. Her uncertainty with vampires impacted her friendships with Elena and Caroline at first, but she was eventually able to move past it. However, she still has had some issues with Damon who hasn’t always been someone she liked or even trusted to the point that he has been the target of some of her spells. Still, they have worked through some of their issues for the most part. Vampires are not her issue, it is the damage, destruction, and hurt they leave behind. Bonnie has worked to overcome her issues with vampires, but she will not excuse their actions and will not stand by when they make the wrong choices. She even considers a few of the vampires her best and closest friends, but that does not mean she isn’t slightly wary when new ones arrive in town or her life. She still tries to give them the benefit of the doubt, more so now that both her best friends are vampires, but if you cross her, her friends, or show yourself incapable of change, she’ll handle the situation even if the problem is her best friend. When Elena attacked her, the magic kicked in and she was willing to hurt her friend to protect herself. Though part of that was also expression was starting to take over, she will do what is needed. Can come across sometimes as a bit judgy, but most of the time that's with Damon. Which is why he's the only one that has a nickname around it, and the only one she will allow to get away with it since they have come a long way to where she can deal with him. Might even sometimes call him a friend depending on the day.

Bonnie is more confident in her skills as a witch and while the loss of the people important to her has taken a toll on some of her personality traits, she’s still the person people count on when help is needed. She believes her reason for being given these powers is to protect people both the ones she loves and the innocent, which she takes very seriously. Always eager to study more and learn all she can about magic since she missed out on many years of learning, so now she’s trying to catch up. Never looks or wants people to risk their lives for her, but she will always put her life on the line to protect others. Bonnie does not even think twice about saving her friends even when knowing it could come at the expense of her own life. She will do anything to make sure her friends are happy no matter the cost. As proven when she feels Elena needs her brother so she does the spell that ends up with her dying so that Jeremy can return. Then had Jeremy lie so that her friends could be happy, refusing to take that away from them. She has a bad habit of putting everyone else before herself.

Her caring nature is both a strength and a weakness, but she wants to believe humans and supernatural species can make the right choices. Does it always happen? No, but she tries to see the best; however, she knows when to cut ties because the person will never change. Among her caring nature and her ability to sacrifice herself, Bonnie will give attitude. She refuses to let anyone see her looking fear or any weakness, fearing it will be used against her. She wanted to hide the bloody nose with magic, fearing that it would be seen as a weakness. While she never expects things from her friends, sometimes she does wish she had people outside her friend group who are there for her. As much as she loves her friends, they have a lot going on that she tends to hide her problems to avoid burdening them. This is why Shane and Silas were able to manipulate her since she was feeling lost without her magic. Eventually, she does start to learn to put herself first, but as of right now, we have not reached that point in her story. Needless to say, Bonnie is someone you want on your side. People are wise to make sure they do not lose the trust, care, and friendship of Bonnie Bennett because she will do anything for the people she cares about and will always be there for them in their time of need.

Arriving in Madison is going to send her through a loop. Not because any of this is something she can’t handle because she can. Her problem is she just returned from the dead, and just realized the price of being the anchor, then on top of that, she still hasn’t dealt with watching her father die in front of her and her being unable to do anything. Right about now she could use a drink and a real good cry in private to deal with everything, especially since once again she can’t bring flowers to her father’s grave.

Currently, Bonnie is an anchor to the other side, which has her unable to tap into any of her magical abilities. Instead, she’s the link between the other side and the living, which allows her to be alive and interact with both groups of people. She’s able to communicate and be around the dead and the living. Unlike Jeremy, she can interact and see people she does and doesn't know. So in town, she will be able to see ghosts as long as they are supernatural. However, her becoming the anchor comes with a price since the dead supernatural have to pass through her to go to the other side, which is painful for her. She feels the pain as each person passes through her and will scream in pain from the hurt. Bonnie might try to keep it quiet at first, but we will see.

The show is not always consistent when it comes to her abilities so consider it a bit of a warning. Normally, she’s a very powerful witch, especially with being from the Bennett line and a descendant of Qetsiyah, there are some spells only she can do. Her family is known as a powerful family in the magic world, and Bonnie is determined to make sure to make her family line proud even if they disagree with how she uses her magic most of the time. Bonnie picked up on her magic fairly quickly and has become a force to be reckoned with when she has her abilities, especially with having to learn as she goes or on her own cause her Grams died when she was starting to go deeper into her magic side. Telekinesis and pyrokinesis tend to be the spells she uses the most along with the ability to give people headaches, mainly vampires. Bonnie has expanded into many other things from the beginning of her magic journey. She is always up for the powerful spells no matter what even if it might hurt her since most of the time it’s to help her friends. The magic she has used has been traditional magic, spirit magic (though the spirits are a bit mad at her or they were when she had her magic), dark magic, and expression. Though she saw the power that she had and the damage that came from expression and dark so depending she may avoid them later on once her abilities come back. Bonnie has psychic abilities that right now are lost to her. While her magic is gone for the time being, she will be trying to tap into it, but here is a link to all her magic since some of her magic she does not even know about yet:

As for weakness, normally she's just like all witches and can be killed. Though right now, if anything happens to her, the other side would be in trouble since she's the link.
