PERSONALITY When Lucy becomes a Queen of Narnia, she’s eventually given the name Queen Lucy the Valiant. She doesn’t shy away from difficult actions or situations. When she first meets Mr. Tumnus, and learns of the White Witch’s desire to kidnap sons of Adam and daughters of Eve, Lucy could stay home and allow her siblings to tell her she’s silly and a baby. But no, she returns to visit Mr. Tumnus because now she’s friends with the fawn. When it becomes clear the White Witch has snatched Mr. Tumnus, and her siblings want to return back to where they’re living, Lucy will hear none of it. He’s her friend and so she needs to go rescue him. When Father Christmas mentions the upcoming battle, Lucy vocalizes that she thinks she can be brave enough.

Her heart is full of love and she’s able to forgive easily. When Mr. Tumnus explains that he’s kidnapping her, she forgives him as soon as he whisks her back to the lamppost. Peter and Susan apologize for not believing her and Lucy is happy to be friends again. When Ed returns from the White Witch, she forgives him right away. Lucy loves all the Narnia creatures, and even when one wrongs her, or tries to kidnap her sister, she can’t truly see them as evil. When Eustace calls the dwarves swine in The Last Battle, Lucy says “don’t be horrid”. Sadly, Lucy refuses to listen to Eustace’s reasoning for calling them swine, which is due to them killing all of the talking horses, which demonstrates a sometimes black and white view of the world.

She’s the most faithful of the four siblings. In Prince Caspian, Lucy sees Aslan first and tries to tell her siblings, but they don’t see him and question her. Lucy, being so young in the earlier books, can’t always vocalize what she sees and her siblings questioning her hurts both her feelings and makes her wonder what she did see. But, she adores Aslan and believes in him strongly.

Lucy loves her siblings, although sometimes she’s a little jealous of how lovely Susan is in comparison to herself. However, she never falls into the act of growing up like her older sister. For her, Narnia is real and she longs to return. When Aslan tells her in the Voyage of the Dawn Treador that she’s too old to return, Lucy is the most upset of her siblings, never wanting to leave.

FACTS: 1) Lucy is an exceptional dancer. She took many lessons and loved the freedom various dances allowed the youngest sibling. When the siblings returned home after the Golden Age in Narnia, she'd dance in secret from their mother, so as to not arouse suspicions.

2) Lucy, (after much much much convincing of Peter) when she's finally in her teenage years, is allowed to train with the healers in Narnia. Yes, she possessed her cordial, but Lucy wants to learn the ways of her subjects, including what different species require for various ailments. (After all setting a faun's leg will differ from a broken wing.) She is not as gifted as some, but she makes up for it with dedication and study.

After Peter begins his studies as a doctor, Lucy begins to toy with the idea of becoming a nurse. She wants to help people and, as a female, it's much easier for her to join the nursing ranks. And, after all, she adores her eldest brother.

3) Lucy is, in some ways, the most accepting that they return to the age they were when they entered Narnia. If no time passed, it makes sense she's back to being eight year old. After all, what would people say if she'd left at the age of eight, no time passed, and she returned several years older? Plus, quite honestly, it means she can have more adventures without worrying about marriage. This doesn't mean she doesn't wish to look the age she feels at all, because her lived experience, like her siblings, is much older than the ages they appear. But, she's the most upset about losing access to Narnia and is forever looking for ways to return between the Golden Age and meeting Caspian. Heck, one time at a friend's she suggested Hide & Seek just to see if her friend's wardrobe would send her back (although she would feel terrible if she managed it without her siblings) Even if she returns as the age she is, she wants to go back.

APP QUESTIONS Pick two to four of the questions from here! Give us a sentence or two (or more!)

What song best describes your character? Run with Me - Heather Larose for the lyrics My heart’s wild like a lion’s roar/ Unpredictable/ An open door. For Lucy, nobody can hold her heart like Aslan, and she likes to think she has the courage of her favourite lion. And, really, would anyone argue she doesn't? Because the youngest Pevensie loves adventure and Aslan almost in equal measure.

What is Lucy's favourite weather? She loves rainy days for spending time reading (or dancing these days, since she doesn't have to hide her skill as much), snow because it reminds her of the time she and her siblings met Father Christmas, sunshine because it promised a new age in Narnia, and night because some of the best adventures happen when the sun sets in the sky

SPECIAL ABILITIES & SKILLS:

  • the most up for adventure
  • Excellent markswoman
  • Excellent swordswoman
  • Excellent dancer
  • Super friendly
