PERSONALITY
LIKES- Organization.
- Public Speaking.
- Public Attention.
- Keeping himself in top physical shape.
- Women. Stamford has great respect for women and an appreciation for the fairer sex. He will always treat them well, treat them right, and show them the utmost respect whether it is on a date, at work, or out and about. Nevertheless, he does enjoy their company and the physical attributes and gratifications he can have with them.
- History (Ancient Runes/History of Magic/World History). Stamford has books upon books about sorts of history of different periods! And he is always seeking out to learn more and as much as he can.
- Quidditch (Puddlemere!) and a pint. During Quidditch weekends, Stamford can be found with friends at a local pub, cheering on his favourite team!
- The finer things in life. Having grown up in a home where money was of abundance, Stamford became well accustomed to a more refined way of living. He is diligent with his own earned money and continues to treat himself to lavish dinners, expensive clothing (though he does like relaxed clothing as well), extravagant travel, and an elegant style within his apartment.
- Black currant jam and strawberry shortcake. Although he is more a savory gent, Stamford can never say no to these two sweets.
- Playing hard after working hard. His mantra is, he works hard for his money, he may as well enjoy it. And if it is with someone else, that is even better.
DISLIKES
- Failure. Stamford prides himself on success and doing well. He sets high expectations for himself and settles for nothing less.
- Disrespect, especially towards women. Stamford will not put up with disrespect of any kind and should it be directed toward a woman, he will absolutely intervene.
- Being a disappointment. Whether it is at work, with family, or with friends, Stamford holds himself accountable for holding his word and his promises. If he cannot follow through, he will find a way to make up for it and hold it over himself.
- Being disappointed. The same goes for those who commit to him, family, and/or friends. He expects that others hold the same sense of promise as he does.
- Astrology. It lacks a factual foundation and Stamford does not regard it as actual magic or a solid base for anything.
- Cherry anything
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
At first glance, Stamford exudes confidence and incredible charm which, at times, may seem rather self-important.
OVERALL PERSONALITY:
On the surface, Stamford presents himself as every bit the politician as expected for a Ministry employee, possessing a wealth of confidence coupled with his intelligence with words, which to some, may seem rather arrogant while others are captivated by his charm and allure. Perhaps it is his ability to speak so eloquently or his handsome smile or the way he is able to look at someone with his blue eyes and make them feel as though they and everything they had to say, was of the utmost importance at that very moment. Because Stamford is nothing short of cocksure, well aware of the distraction his looks are able to cause. And he would be unashamed to admit that a part of him, rather likes it and he will use it to his advantage.
However, those who truly know him would absolutely agree that while Stamford carries and holds himself with such poise and boldness, they also know him to be a loyal and true friend. To family and friends alike, he is dependable to a fault, reliable, and an all-around good man. Respect and politeness toward everyone were ingrained into him from a young age and Stamford has always felt strongly about displaying such kindness and value toward others. He will stand up and speak for what is right when it is necessary, not at all shy nor afraid to do so to defend those who are unable to defend themselves. Despite these attributes being unseen by acquaintances and first encounters, he will both command and offer respect to everyone he meets. Ministry colleagues can vouch for his work ethic, even at his age, he works to not only impress but to learn and to ensure the work is done correctly. Through his passions is where his emotions can get the best of him, usually in the form of disappointment, anger, and frustration and it will take the right person to calm and talk him down.
Though for all of his long days and late nights at the Ministry, Stamford does reward himself by having a good time. Since he was a teenager, he was social and he can be found at a pub with mates, enjoying a few pints over quidditch, or just a night out. A diehard Puddlemere supporter, occasionally he manages tickets to a match and can be one of the loudest (albeit happily with drink) in the stands! And he is no stranger to parties with loud music, women dancing, and showing off.
For all of his hard play, he also appreciates the finer things in life; lavish dinners in luxurious restaurants in stunning places… Perhaps this is the mar to his overall personality, his egotistical nature, and materialism, wanting the finest in everything. He will use his availability to money and his name to garner advantages simply to impress others, especially when on dates with women. This can feed into his stubbornness, pushing for what he wants, and once again, it takes a special individual to talk him down, to see, and to understand.

HISTORY
Family. Stamford was born into the notable pureblood Jorkins family, the second son of Arlo and Elise and younger brother to Albert who is four years above him. Almost a New Year’s baby, he arrived just days shy in the early morning hours on the 30th of December 1952.It would come as no surprise to anyone within the wizarding world that Stamford and his brother grew up and lived a very comfortable life, lush with all those conveniences that galleons were able to afford them. While the Jorkins were well known within their world, they also managed to keep themselves rather unannounced. Instead, their name was attached to respect and prestige, hailing from a line of Jorkins who always seemed to have their wands in the most advantageous cauldrons. Through generations, members of the Jorkins family consistently succeeded in politics, public affairs, and high society, whether it was by means of the Ministry of Magic or the Daily Prophet, even (at times) within the leadership of St. Mungo’s. Wherever vital decisions were made, a Jorkins was usually involved.
Despite the benefits of passed-down opportunities, their achievements also came with hard work, the larger part of their family hailing from Ravenclaw with a fair number of Slytherins with a smattering of Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs combined. However, the proud Ravenclaw tradition continued with Stamford and his older brother Albert.
Ravenclaw! The Sorting Hat spent very little time deciding on where to put Stamford, giving itself short debate, but that was likely in spite of everyone and perhaps itself. Nevertheless, Stamford happily and proudly joined the house he longed to be a part of, accompanying his older brother. And he lived up to the attributes and anticipations of Ravenclaw, excelling in his studies with ease, though that did not come without diligence and hard work. By the end of his seventh year, he aced all of his NEWTs in Ancient Runes, History of Magic, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Academics were not Stamford’s only strength, at least not until his fourth year. Ever the quidditch fan, he also possessed a skill for athleticism and he used his talents to try out for the house team. With a solid build for a young man his age, he became Ravenclaw’s Keeper for the next three years. Already rather well known at Hogwarts, along with his brother, popular amongst the girls, playing quidditch only helped gain him further popularity.
While he excelled in his classes and did well on the pitch, he wasn’t always the model student when it came to following the rules. He enjoyed staying out beyond curfew, sneaking around the castle with mates, sneaking around the castle to snog girls (usually to snog girls), or attending the next house party (whichever house that may be). Yet, he didn’t always receive detention during those times he had unfortunately been caught. He learned, as a young teenager, that he had quite the knack for charm. And perhaps it was his charm that earned him the title of Prefect. Though, unlike his brother, Stamford would not become Head Boy and that is still teased about to this day.
Ministry of Magic. As mentioned before, the Jorkins family is a prominent wizarding family long associated with politics, public service, and business. It was hardly surprising when the newest generation of Jorkins each made their claim into two of the most vital sources of public service within the wizarding world; Albert followed in their mother’s footsteps and went to work for the Daily Prophet as Stamford pursued the Ministry of Magic just as their father had. And although the boys had a familial advantage, it was their education and dedication that propelled them into their positions.
Stamford liked the idea of journalism but was drawn to political communications and the intricacies of public relations. He never thought of himself as a politician or a journalist but as something between the two, interested in both mediums and recognizing his ability for speaking with allure and persuasion. As soon as he moved out of Hogwarts, he moved into the Ministry, interning through each department under various individuals involved with the institution's communications, public relations, and media outlets, putting in the work to hopefully impress his mentors.
After a year of grunt work, he achieved a position as an assistant, first to the Press Secretary of the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes then to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. Through years of thorough, tireless, and strenuous work, Stamford earned himself the position of Public Relations for the Department of International Magical Cooperation under the Director of Communications who then reports to the Spokeswizard. It is Stamford’s ambition and desire to one day become the Spokeswizard for the Ministry of Magic…
Dark Wizard Involvement Rumors. As a pureblood family, it was not uncommon for there to be an association with pureblood ideals, ideologies, and principles. In days dating far back to Grindelwald and the Knights of Walpurgis, the predecessors of the Jorkins family may have silently leaned their affiliation to the cause, though no one truly knows this for sure. Some say their interest aided in their security of political and journalistic involvement which in turn aptly enhanced their Gringotts account. Or perhaps these were mere words of jealous adversaries who did not succeed against Jorkins' opponents or found themselves on the wrong side of a Jorkins Daily Prophet article. Nevertheless, after Grindelwald’s fall and the disappearance of the Knights of Walpurgis, the Jorkins, with no evidence of their involvement, were no longer a concern. Then and sometimes now, their participation is questionable.
Regardless, the Jorkins family will always vehemently maintain their denunciation of the beliefs and views against muggles and all other magical creatures.
